Being a fledgling car maker I believe this is the 1st model that Toyota has sold. Which makes this suggestion quite likely.Just thinking about the worse case scenario…..
Cars need to go through type approval before 6th of July 2022 to beat the deadline for all the extra stuff that will kill the GR86 off in 2024, intelligent speed restriction, pedestrian safety etc.
What if the car they put through type approval is the wrong spec due to the ordering issue already discussed and they have to do it again, that would mean they have missed the 6th July cutoff and they wouldn’t be able to sell in EU unless they make all the mods (which they have already said isn’t practical).
Maybe that is why they are being so sheepish and they are trying to negotiate with the approvals agency. Fingers crossed that is not the case

He compared it to the climate-fluid issue, we had with the first gen.
When 1234yf was needed, but r134a was filled.
According to him, they just wait for parts from subaru.
So it COULD be related to the particle filter.
But he said, 3 parts are wrong.

Or they change the engine back to fa20 and lose some parts to maintain the chirping...I reckon they're mapping the torque dip back in for the euro markets
I do love my car, but the sound of the engine just doesn't match it's looks, sounds like a sewing machine.

Looking at the diagram for the exhaust it seems the GPF does comprise of 3 parts so sounds like that might be the case.

Which might mean the quoted euro power figures are slightly lower.
Same power figures as everywhere else except the USA.
But it wouldn't surprise me if they are wrong. It's all been very sketchy.

That’s correct mate. The WHP on Euro spec car are different.
WHP and BHP are not exclusive of each other. WHP is BHP whereas BHP is not always WHP. Your obsession with referencing WHP makes no sense in most of the threads you quote it.
WHP is a bit of a nonsense concept anyway. BHP being HP minus frictional losses. How can you have horsepower at the wheels without frictional losses?
Edit: just noticed I accidentally switched HP and BHP. Now corrected.

I'd love to know what the writer thinks the pistons are rotating counter to.
