Interesting although they are quoting the gr yaris warranty vs 86 warranty so not equal comparisons But irrelevant to the lube getting in.
 
Latest rumour to add to the pile on gr86.org apparently from Toyota Belgium is that the VSC needs to be updated to meet EU safety standards... Apparently it's too easy to big skids and we can't be trusted 😄

Given the GT86 slides a bit before intervening I'm not sure on this. But as long as track mode and all off is still there I'm fine with that. Hopefully ESP off truly means off as if some remains to kill slides then that would be a disaster for a car like this.

The whole point of the GR86 is to enjoy the “lively” handling, I’d be pretty disappointed if the EU bores kill that aspect of the car.

If they stop the ability to get the back end out a bit in normal mode (with some safety net if it gets really out of shape), then people will just turn ESP off making the car more dangerous. If they totally stop the ability to turn ESP off then they will have wrecked the car in my opinion.

I can't see that statement, that to me sounds more like someone's opinion as opposed to fact.
 
They’ll happily hamper a 230bhp sportscar for being tail happy but you can buy infinitely more dangerous 800bhp super cars that will light up their tyres with half throttle, cars that regularly end up in a barrier or a ditch at car meets?

Thats exactly what happened to Gen1, ebcause the VSC was too strict...
