GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

An arty shot of mine this afternoon. Gave it a much needed deep clean inside and out.

Snap.

Although not really a proper deep clean as it was just dusty. Then went to get fuel and got someone asking about it, which was nice.

Oh and when I got home the sun came out and I made the mistake of looking at the panels in direct sunlight. Despite my best efforts...swirls :/

Another glorious day in Kent, so I fitted the GR Cup car intake kit from Outbound Motorsports.

The hope was that this would fill the desire for some decent induction noise before I commit to spending over £1000 on an intake kit. It does in a way, a big meaty dose of induction noise comes in at 3500rpm, it's actually pretty intrusive as you feel vibrations through the seat too, I'm guessing that's where the big intake resonator was doing it's work, it roars again around 4200rpm then tails off after 5000rpm, definitely adds to the drama, £90 well spent although refitting the bumper is a massive pain in the arse!

Also enjoying the new wheel and tyre combo. 17s works really well on this car. I've ditched about 1kg per corner, the car feels more nimble and the ride is more compliant, initial impressions on Eagle F1s are really positive too, definitely quieter than the PS4s which I've not been a fan of.

Had to haul the GR86 off the driveway and use it to do my chores down at the horses field. Parked it up at the end of the lane and walked the last mile as the car would never make it over the rough terrain and foot deep potholes. Nice day for a bimble though ...

Nice, do you think you'll still fit a full intake or is just the snorkel satisfactory?

Yesterday, went to the Rustival event at British Motor Museum. Plenty of interesting cars on display and access to the museums too. Typically the car park was where the real magic happened. Fellow 86 owner adding splash of colour. Think there were 5 GR86 in total.

Managed to get my windscreen chipped. Any experience of windscreen repair? It is small but in my line of view
Get it repaired asap before it starts spreading. I had one a year ago and it was about £35 at Halfords. They'll tell you if it's repairable and refund if it's not. I left a previous small chip for 3 months and ended up with a new screen after a sudden hot spell spread the crack 3ins. 😲

If going for windscreen replacement you need to get moulding trim Toyota p/n SU003-08621. Some service centres are not aware as it comes sepetatly from glass.

Another early morning Touge run? Your car always seems to sit like it's been lowered compared to mine, do you have concrete in the boot 😅
Yeah, that was on the Ashdown Forest.
And no, but I am somewhat of a fatteh so maybe my springs are just compressing more over time.
