GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Gave it the first proper clean this season yesterday, was dusk by the time I was done. For a car never driven in the wet / salt its amazing how grubby it can get! Hilux had a quick once over too.

Side note, slightly off topic.... but ultimately for the GR86... I have another V8 for the Hilux, (3UZ this time to replace the existing , perfectly functional 1UZ VVTi) plus a 6 speed auto box. My plan is to rebuild those (gearbox uprated clutches, engine forged internals for the supercharger) but to take the Hilux off the road I want to daily the Camaro, to keep the '86 clean and fresh. To do that I need to fix the Camaro... on inspecting the rods over the weekend noticed no.5 looked slightly off 😅

Whats really impressive is that I didn't initially notice on removal! (disclaimer, was hungover)

Knock Knock.
Who's there?

What did you make of the Ohlins? Are you using the factory supplied spring rates?

@Grblue86 what are the specs of your wheels? It sits nicely on those.

Although there was some snow locally, yesterday, changed the alloys over to the summer set today. They look so much better

Before I put them on the marketplace, I will be selling the 'winter' 17" GT86 alloys (recently refurbed) with Michelin Cross Climates tyres on.
Losing my storage. Approx. 6mm of tread, if anyone is interested

Couple of night shots of the Lexus switch. The light is definitely dimmer than the OEM button but adds a little class, in my humble opinion. The supplied bezel sits raised over the surrounding plastic. I followed another owner's idea and swapped the OEM bezel onto it so it sits flush with the button protruding more than the OEM but with a concave shape rather than convex so it invites your finger to the center of it.

I overthink these things but I am a happy chappy 😅

Yes I'm on supplied 6K F+R Springs. Tires used were Nankang CR-S 225/45 17 inch. Front camber -3.1° rear camber -2.6° zero toe in the front 0.2 toe in in the rear. No camber plates in the front - I'm using Pedders top hats, upper 14mm Oem bolt and Eibach 14 mm camber bolt combo in the front. Cusco LCA in the rear. I've had KW Clubsport 2 way with 6/7k Spring combo and -3.5° / -3.0° camber. I lke this setup a lot more. No LS compression adjuster but at lower of recommended track settings Ohlins didn't feel like I needed one at all. They're supper smooth through curbs (way less harsh than KW was) and body control during cornering is as good if not better than KW was.

I'm guessing you had to remove the button from the dash to swap it...is it difficult?
Reason I ask is I've just been troubleshooting an issue with my reverse camera and had to slide the head unit out...in the process I managed to scratch the bezel of the start button 😫 Hoping it's possible to swap it out fairly easily as it will gnaw away at me.

Washed the car after 3 long days of driving this week, including the track day, only to find that an object hit my spoiler and went through the PPF.

I dont know anything about repairing this sort of stuff. I guess it is possible. It is a toyota spoiler which is what pisses me off but silver lining is that it didn't hit the windscreen

I expect that’s happened while parked, not while driving. Pretty sure the electric blue is a single stage plus clearcoat. Lucky it’s on the spoiler and not a large panel. Repair will likely be £150 - £250, plus the cost of getting new PPF.

So I tried following some US guides and am fairly certain there's a little more space to work with once you get one small panel off. It's to the right of the start button and leads below the steering wheel, there's a black Philips-head, Undo that and start pulling the panel from the bottom gentle and the clips will start to give. Then you can poke your fingers behind the button and push it out. It popped out pretty easy once I found where to push it.

It took me longer than expected as I'd seen people being able to pry it off or grip-n-rip it out with their bare hands. Impossible, couldn't pull it off and could find no decent leverage to pry it off without marking the surrounding plastic.
