GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

As I said in my post, each to their own, and I wouldn’t criticise anyone for choosing to use their car all year round. 🧐

I’m sure those who are using their cars all year round will enjoy them, and I’m sure those who are in the (fortunate) position to have another car to use every day, will enjoy using their GR86 as a leisure car.
 
Well as you know, quite a few of us in Scotland had the car underbody protection carried out when new/nearly new at www.preserveprotect.co.uk - so it will be interesting to compare driving/SORN cars that have this little added piece of mind to combat our winter months. There is no wrong path :)
 
Personally, I'm glad there are some people who are wrapping the cars up and preserving them, just as I'm glad to be using mine (with due care!). This car is a classic, and it means I get to both enjoy it now and sit happy in the knowledge there will be pristine examples far in the future. Thank you guys for looking after my future cars for me :p

Definitely a good move, as any car with Scottish plates or an ‘Arnold Clark’ sticker we got in at my old work looked like it had been parked in the sea underneath 😱
 
...wishing it had a heated steering wheel. Heated seats are fine while the heater is warming up, but I'd rather have a cold arse than numb fingers!

Absolutely. Girlfriends car has a heated wheel and its lovely, I'd dearly love one as I don't really like wearing gloves when driving.
And I know people would probably scoff at me for wanting something like that in a sports car, but it's not just for the daily drive; it would be a godsend when I'm out for an early morning drive.

Just my opinion and previous experience. Owned loads of Japanese cars and they always looked like a bag of crap after 3 or 4 years.
Quite happy to lock it away and enjoy in the warmer months. We are all different. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything.
I’m not stopping anyone else using theirs. Just my personal preference.
 
So woke up this morning to drive the airport and realised I didn’t have the best car for these conditions. Decided to pinch my wife’s 4x4 for 3 days and as you can imagine she is not happy. Ideas required how to make it up to her 🫤

In regards to putting the car away, i guess I’m a halfway house. Won’t bother driving it if the weather’s rubbish as I’m fortunate to have a 2nd car but as soon as the grit has gone, it’ll be back out again. I also hate driving my other car in the winter but i can’t afford a 3rd car!!

To be honest, although I have to commute by car now, I can probably do the same. My new employer is pretty laid back, doesn't really want to be in the office much himself, and so if the weather is really grim, I don't think he'd really mind me working from more to avoid the drive in.
