I've been building a bike rack over the last couple of weeks to haul my eMTB around. Finally got all parts and it's time to test it.

Nice
A bit of fudgery involved at the rear, so to speak.Nice. Any issues with the fit @Alistair31, like modifying the shields etc., or was it a straightforward OEM off, new kit on?

Thank you. I've built it from scratch using 3D printed parts and off the shelf aluminium square tube, bolts, nuts. That looks very high quality. Did you start with an existing bike rack?
Yes I did, with some off the shelf parts and some ingenuityDid you make the rods that fit into the tow eye threaded holes?

Don't think so, it's a single side adhesive and the metallic sheets help with the resonance. You overlay that with the foam to then get a dB reduction too. Have done the same on the gt86 before it and did help considerablyAre you supposed to peel that metallic layer off? I thought you needed it to reflect the vibration back into the rubber? Which foam did you use? I think I might have to add some too.Don't think so, it's a single side adhesive and the metallic sheets help with the resonance. You overlay that with the foam to then get a dB reduction too. Have done the same on the gt86 before it and did help considerably![]()
Link doesnt work anymore but it was just an amazon special pack of closed cell foam sound deadening sheets. There'll be better out there but has definitely made a difference.Which foam did you use? I think I might have to add some too.
AP racing brake rotors with OEM PP Brembo callipers? Ain't the Brembo OEM thinner than APs?
Looks really goodFitted a glossy CF Cover (from AE Night Kids Store) to the heat switch panel. Tomorrow I’m expecting their gearstick bezel panel to arrive, when I’ll be fitting that too. Perfect finish and fit, but we’ll see if their fake 3M tape holds fast or if I have to replace it with genuine PT1100…
