GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

Yes, the 2 year/20k full service should have diff oil included, but the dealerships don’t seem to see it on the list of consumables when they book the car in, despite it being listed on the Toyota web site when booking the service. I had to email Toyota GB who confirmed to the dealership that it should be included, and I got booked in 2 weeks later to get it done. Fortunately I had another warranty job done on the same day.
Same, mine is going in Wednesday for the diff oil only. Had to point out to service team. Waiting to hear back regarding brake fluid as service advisor said they only top it up.

My diff oil was replaced at the 20k service, didn't have to ask. I wonder if you're booking in for a 2 year it doesn't show up on the system, but if its mileage based it does? (fwiw they didn't do my brake fluid at 20k).

2nd annual service recently completed @ just over 4k miles. Found brake and diff fluids (as well as the others) clearly marked on the paper check list that the mechanic completes. All done without any discussion or fuss.

Wow! I had nothing as detailed as this from the Cambridge dealer 2 weeks ago for my 2-year service. No tick boxes on what was done and certainly no diff oil replacement - just a brief summary of components used and how much they cost. They even got the date of next service wrong.

Similar to my experience with Cardiff.

Similar to my experience with Cardiff.
P1 - Invoice with break down of parts and fluids used.
P2 - Service checklist (as per photos)
P3 - Body and underbody inspection checklist
P4-6 Visual Safety Report (VSR)
Also a video sent through.

Met with the master tech (trained on GR vehicles) who undertook the work as well, he went through all the work including the grades of fluid used.
Supplied with coffees and fresh pastries whilst I waited.

Every 20K or 4 years according to the book. You can request it be done earlier of course.
Hi Sonic, do you have a link or scan for that?

Just back from my second service. Cost here was 735 GBP! Although 120 of that was an Aircon service, above and beyond the standard. As far as I can tell no diff oil or brake fluid, but who knows what Subaru say on this topic - I can't find a similar checklist. Key thing is the stamp in the book while I try and sort gearbox issues under warranty.

On a more positive note they fixed my drivers door that at the rear edge was not closing as tightly as when new. This meant it was sticking out a few mms and it looked super ugly viewing the opening / panel gap when approaching from the back of the car. No idea what caused it to move but so glad it is now sorted. Not heard of this one before but it was just a simple adjust of the striker plate.

As part of my recent change to a High Mileage Lifestyle: 250 mile round trip to Bradford. Car behaved impeccably; 39.9 mpg.

Bradford: Friendly people; know how to make a proper cup of tea.

This was what was shown when booking the 2 year service, very clearly stating “Replace rear differential oil.”.

I also have an email from Toyota GB that states:
“As we are the manufacturer and distributor of new vehicles here at TGB we do not manage any of our centres as they are all franchises and have their own in-house complaints process when it comes to being unhappy with the service they have provided.

However, you are correct, the rear differential oil is listed on our website as needing replacing at 2yrs/20k service. Therefore, I have passed the details of your complaint directly to service manager at <dealership>.

I would like to apologise for your experience, and I hope that they can work with you to provide a solution.”

Contact for TGB is [email protected]

Hope this helps.

Thanks Craig and Sonic!

I'll call them tomorrow and confirm the diff oil replacement.
Also seen "road test vehicle" I'll add that to the "please do not under any circumstances do" list.

An update to my scintilating diff oil change query... I just called Group 1 Guildford to confirm and they said "their system is down and they'll have to call me back".

I will sit rocking in the corner until they do.
