GR86 What did you do with your GR86 today

I had to reverse off a kerb, but came off too shallow an angle so the rear just kind of slid off.
Been there. In fact, I've just this minute done it myself while shunting the car outside my house, but luckily only partway up a drop kerb, so I avoided contact. But for a second I thought I'd kissed it.

Nevermind. Go over it with a Sharpie, then treat yourself to a wheel refurb in the new year :D

Eugh horrible sorry to see this.

The only thing as bad as doing this yourself is seeing a much loved and respected forum comrade do it.

Never mind forum bargains on fancy wheels and silly loud exhausts and tyres and whatnot - I propose we pursue a Sharpie discount rate...

Just renewed my breakdown cover for another year, with Autonational again.

Cheap and convenient; hopefully I'll never need to use it.

I went with them originally after a recommendation from a forum member or two here so thanks whoever it was as I can't remember!

Just done the long schlep around the place for Christmas visits - the M1 seems to be one endless average speed check these days, which probably explains the 40mpg I got for the trip :/ Even the boot was sufficient for luggage/present duties. What kind of boring car is this? :p (A few tight roundabouts in greasy conditions was a firm reminder that it's not..)

Speaking from three wheel experience now, the double ended Sharpie allows the cleansing of the soul in those hard to reach crevices with the short tip. The other tip allows for the washover. I won't leave home without one now 😁

And I just had to jump start the GR86. There will be a trial later to see who takes responsibility for leaving the passenger interior light on. I have my defence papers lodged already and expect punitive damages, goodwill for loss of crap TV time and compensation for the impact on my Guinness intake time over the festivities. I am not sure how the case will be considered but the defendant usually acts as Judge in these matters anyway. Hhmm....

Throw yourself at the mercy of the court and declare that, by your own neglection, (res ipsa loquitur - the failure to provide suitable instruction as to the proper operation of aforementioned interior illumination switch) and its subsequent effect thereof, may have indeed been a significant factor in this case and you move to dismiss without prejudice, despite the obvious personal sacrifices evident by you.

I can only concur - the benefit of Scots Law - Not Proven

My brake discs have turned ginger. Getting sick of looking at it from my 'sick' chair in the living room . . .

(Cast off now, two impressive scars and a walking 'boot' and lots of pain. Further physio on 3rd Jan. Progress x-ray on 16th Jan)

When i had mine serviced the dealer recommended diamond cutting the rim lip off rather than a kerb rash repair

Try some Atom Mac from BiltHamber. It sprays on, is non-greasy and is designed to help prevent e.g. brake disc corrosion.
