GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

You are right, imo GRY is a rally car, but since it already got carbon pattern roof vinyl, I got matte carbon AP arch guards, so thought these would fit nicer. Shame they are gloss, would prefer matte.
And (could be wrong) thought carbon tips could keep more heat off plastic "diffusor".
Yes, that was what I meant. If there are other bits, it could fit very well. I think I will remove the fake carbon wrap and wrap it black like the wing or white like the car. I thought about the hks intake, just because mushroom 🍄. But this is carbon as well. Matt black plastic would fit the engine bay better. If you have a carbon DNA racing strut bar on the other hand... Guess it's go carbon or non carbon but go the full way :D

Snap!

I went for them so that they’d be a little more subtle than the burnt end tips more than anything else.

I am the weirdo that would paint the cap gloss black to debrand and fit the diffuser... 😄 haha
I went OTT and have the gloss Eventuri and HKS engine cover, so I know it matches something else, even if no one else can see it 😆

Installed🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️

Last winter nights were getting shorter again when I had all sorted so couldn't be arsed to install it, but now it's getting pretty dark again...

Don't even try to drill the crash bar, hard as hell, ended up with an even better install

Very neat compared to the official mounting kit with two huge brackets...

Dead easy wiring with XBB, just + and - and the rest is wireless via OBD

Little chicken wire for protection lower grille too...

Lazer ST8 Evo with 30° spreader lens for a wide beam (hopefully)

Finally got to see the video taken when my mate ceramic coated the car for me. Worth a watch.

Last stop before turning into the A68. Average was somewhat lower by the time we reached our destination

Looks like a good solution for the wiring! Do I understand it correctly, that with the XBB the device senses when then high beam is on and powers on the light bar without any messing with the oem headlight wiring?

Yes. It uses an OBD reader (one can use a Y splitter) which gets a recipe for ones vehicle so it can sense various light signals, ignition, reverse etc, and then communicates wirelessly to a relay/solenoid (visible in the pic) that is programmed to switch on the light bar from the high beam signal in this case. It can also work on e.g. reverse, position, drl, fog lights, work lights etc depending on vehicle and the available recipe, there is a list, and one obd dongle can iirc control up to three solenoids that each have two switches.

Indeed got it because I didn't want to mess with the OE wiring or rely on induction(?) sensing over the wiring.

Watched it tick over 10,000 km so in my mind it is approximately half “run-in” as I always think engines take around 20,000 km to fully loosen up.

In what is, for me, a rare bit of good planning, it’s going in for its first service next week, almost six months to the day since I picked it up!

Might also wash it this weekend. It’s been months 😬😂

Have noticed that it is somewhat tricky to read the oil level of the car correctly, especially with new oils.
Changed oils on Thursday and yesterday checked the levels - on first try it looked like it was in the middle of two markings. took another measure, and then it read that it was full?
Today the same procedure and now it appears that it was in the middle level as initially thought.
Is it with the lightweight oils that it is rather tricky to read the correct oil level from the stick? Maybe with new oils it is not that evident.
In car oil level gauge would be handy, but they also give extra problems if giving false readings (like in a Cayenne). Maybe the manual stick is just the best.

It’s a pain. Some recommend checking the level with the engine warm too. But then more of it is deposited around the engine and not in the sump.

My 20 year old Clio, that cost around a fiver new, tells me the oil level digitally when I start the car.

In 2022 I would expect the MyT app to tell me my oil level, can’t be that hard?

Installed ITG panel filter today. If I’m being honest I can’t really detect any difference but I guess it can’t hurt 🤷🏻‍♂️

Also turned off the fake noise.

Maybe the psychological effect of adding the filter has been ruined by the psychological effect of turning off the noise. 🤔
