Good news, finally full hearted withe the GRY and no other filthy ford leeching money and time.Sold it's stable mate (Fiesta ST mk8) way earlier than I anticipated. But a) the set of compromises of the GR just works for us (even tho the ST is generelly much better value for money IMO) and b) I got a pretty decent price and just have a bad feeling about the economy for the next 6-12 months. Good news? I'm usually wrong about economics.
See what you did there
I love posts like this. I always imagine the other guy on a Bimmersnotters.com forum or whatever posting about how he destroyed a GR Yaris today. ‘He tried to get away in the corners but was utterly dominated by my remapped 370 lb ft torque on the straights, I thought them Yaris’s were quick, Lolz’. Etc etc.Got tailgated by a BMW repmobile today, only 350 miles in so thought cheddar gorge would be quiet and a good place to stretch its legs without getting held up. Left him behind on the corners (all below 4K revs, 30% throttle) He catches up on the straight, gets inches from my bumper, proceeds to overtake me and 3 cars in front just before a blind corner. Could have ended horribly.
Looks great, I like the idea of starting small so if you don't like it , it's not a great cost .
Now the real running-in starts!Finished running it in. Three day trip down to the central belt for work/family visits did the trick. North east - Glenshee - Fife - Glasgow - Edinburgh - Perth - A94 - Coast road - North east. Great fun!
Oh I always had that back of my mind for when ever I'd have a Japanese car again. Hope you don't mind me copying that at some point.
The car is en route to being 100% red, that was just the first update pic I was sent. It does look good though, doesn’t it?Oh I always had that back of my mind for when ever I'd have a Japanese car again. Hope you don't mind me copying that at some point.
Why else would they give us a perfectly round fuel flap?@MrJ Can't wait to see the result. A *very* nice red that! Still thinking about the now often done dark green for a wrap. But in the meantime a dab of colour and a small nod at the car's place of birth -- why not?
Looking forward to. If the original scarlet red would be more like yours I would have taken that. But because its so metallic glossy I've chosen the pure white, or snow white in UK.Why else would they give us a perfectly round fuel flap?
The colour is 3M gloss hot rod red. I’ll find out how it looks tomorrow evening![]()
