GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Drove it for the first time in over a week after doing the thick end of 3,000 km to Biarritz and back in my interminably dull family bus. The thing positively fizzes in comparison! 😂

Sold it's stable mate (Fiesta ST mk8) way earlier than I anticipated. But a) the set of compromises of the GR just works for us (even tho the ST is generelly much better value for money IMO) and b) I got a pretty decent price and just have a bad feeling about the economy for the next 6-12 months. Good news? I'm usually wrong about economics :).

Good news, finally full hearted withe the GRY and no other filthy ford leeching money and time. 😆

Used mine as a van to move house. To be honest it wasn’t the best, but I was surprised at how much did fit in. The fact that the seats fold flat definitely helps. My route was through the Cotswolds and it took a lot of willpower to drive carefully in order to avoid things flying everywhere.

Mine's been neglected for the past couple of days. It's been cool enough to take a bike to work.
Tomorrow I have a client visiting so I'm undecided between the Yaris and the Volvo (which is supposed to be used for work....

Got tailgated by a BMW repmobile today, only 350 miles in so thought cheddar gorge would be quiet and a good place to stretch its legs without getting held up. Left him behind on the corners (all below 4K revs, 30% throttle) He catches up on the straight, gets inches from my bumper, proceeds to overtake me and 3 cars in front just before a blind corner. Could have ended horribly.

I love posts like this. I always imagine the other guy on a Bimmersnotters.com forum or whatever posting about how he destroyed a GR Yaris today. ‘He tried to get away in the corners but was utterly dominated by my remapped 370 lb ft torque on the straights, I thought them Yaris’s were quick, Lolz’. Etc etc.

Oh I always had that back of my mind for when ever I'd have a Japanese car again. Hope you don't mind me copying that at some point.
The car is en route to being 100% red, that was just the first update pic I was sent. It does look good though, doesn’t it?

Maybe when the wrap eventually comes off and it goes back to white, I might just keep that bit in red too 😊

I have finally completed my mid life crisis, golf bats and trolley fit nicely with the back seats folded down.
Warning to all Forum members near Bedford, I'm having my 1st round of golf tomorrow so the safest place for your cars are either, in your garages or in front of me on the golf coarse.

wish me luck

@MrJ Can't wait to see the result. A *very* nice red that! Still thinking about the now often done dark green for a wrap. But in the meantime a dab of colour and a small nod at the car's place of birth -- why not :)?

Why else would they give us a perfectly round fuel flap?

The colour is 3M gloss hot rod red. I’ll find out how it looks tomorrow evening 😬

Looking forward to. If the original scarlet red would be more like yours I would have taken that. But because its so metallic glossy I've chosen the pure white, or snow white in UK.
