Today we are hitting 10k together. Loving every moment with it. Even though I would love to have silver paintjob (unfortunately there was none available at the time when I was ordering), black is so stunning when freshly cleaned. PPF front and ceramic coating certainly helps, but this is probably first and last black paint car I’ll own. Its destroying my sanity trying to keep it clean and prevent any cosmetic damage

If anyone does give it a go don't panic with it - plenty of slip solution gives you time to work out where you need to stretch it and otherwise.
Another tip I have actually that is quite helpful I would suggest is to get a little fabric and make some 2D patterns for tricky areas. Weed control membrane is quite good for this as it is flexible, draping nicely. A little masking tape will help also.

I had PPF on the hips and that's the only place really needed.

I felt uneasy too.
An experienced friend helped me figure out how to start effectively, it turned out to be not difficult.
You need to:
- Turn on sport mode
- Disable safety systems
- Maintain revs at least 4000
- When you suddenly release the clutch, raise revs to 4500
With this kind of start, the Yaris makes a jerk, the clutch doesn’t even stink (although sometimes there can be a smell if you release it slowly).

Even if I just Rev the engine a little bit more and release it normally it will smell a lot

Drastic ! But they are paid and sponsored and don't care about their paint work.
I don't play in the same league, I am not sponsored and prefer to preserve its paint.
I have a dedicated non-PPFd track car, and after each track day small impacts and chips just add up.
My GRY has small impacts & chips only on the windshield, the only unprotected area. I heard that Hexis Bodyfence just came out with a windshield PF. Curious to know long-term aging due to the wipers...
Just a little contrarian opinion, to me a car is a driving tool. And I can admire the car as a whole but I don't need it to be all shiny and mirror smooth up close, if that's the standard then I feel I can barely drive the car... Most people's who don't PPF won't post about it, easy to get confirmation bias when reading all the PPF posts and get FOMO...
Yes, agree fully, that's exactly why I PPFd the GRY, to be able to use it as a tool and let it full of muck without giving it a second thought.
Windshield aside which I clean very often for visibility sake, I only fully wash the car twice a year.
That also a way to do it. Barely washing my cars, they clean up quite ok when it's time to sell and a little touch up here and there... Some detailers like a challenge...
