GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

Today I had to exercise probably a hardest thing in GR Yaris... a restraint. I got two nice Pho Bo soups so first time in probably ever in this car I could not drive like a wannabe rally driver:D

Pros: beautiful smell of Pho soup
Cons: slow and hungry

Parked it under cover due to storm warnings. And then these appeared. Hundreds if not thousands with more little ones. Very noisy. Luckily the plastic roof was well protected. Now it is silent outside.

We get bad hail here from time to time. Last storm we had the wifes new Volvo XC60 was under the car port as reports of the storm headed or way. Naturally I grabbed her keys and moved it out of the car port and put the GR yaris in its place. Wife was not best pleased. My argument was the Volvo would of been cheaper to repair!

Don't have a GRY yet, but does placing an order for one count as doing something to my GR Yaris today?

Fitted the SWM seat lowering frames I bought while in the UK. Instructions are a bit average to be honest and the M6 screws for the sliding pads weren't in the package. I have many so that was just a minute or two getting stock from the bolt bins. Minor things but it wasn't as straight forward as I expected. I hadn't come across that style of airbag plug before so that was fun. Then routing the cables and reinstalling the plugs was interesting. Best location means a bit tight for hands to get the fasteners together. Luckily I was on my own so I could use all those special words that make a job easier. Then there is the passenger side. Almost removed the tilt/slide mechanisms before my brain went how the hell am I fitting those later? Leave them on the sliders and disconnect the cables. Nothing in the destructions about that. Machined bolts were stainless so they went in with some antiseize just in case they need to come out. The end result though was worth the blood. Driver's side is where it should have been from factory. Passenger is still a bit high but I don't sit there so it is therefore OK.

@AK10TOY nice E21, 323i or 320i? I had an ex track E21 for years. Was much fun.

I do not understand what you mean here. Perhaps you could elaborate.

Passenger side rails have the mechanism that releases the rails when the seat is pulled forward for access to the back seats. When you are unbolting the rails from the seats to go on the new floor mount you can remove these as well as the seat. However once you try and fit the seat on the rails now installed in the car there would probably be no way to do the nuts up properly. Just remove the nuts holding the rails to the seat and let the rails come away. The mechanism is still attached to the seat via cables and wiring. Just remove these and the mechanism will remain bolted to the sliders. Then when the seat is fitted Just position the seat so you can clip the cables back in and then bolt the seat down. It is hard enough getting the 5th nut on without two more each side. The new upper mount that bolts to the seat has slots to fit these mechanisms in their new inboard location.

Yes but no but yes it absolutely does, in fact that's where it all starts, and it's been the same for everyone here.
So congratulations and welcome to the group !
Absolutely. A lot of us spent a year or more on here sharing nothing but production speculation and shipping movements!
Thanks! It's gonna be a 6 month wait as now anticipated... 🤯
