GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

I went for a drive round Hampshire and West Sussex on my favourite roads to calibrate myself to the new car before chucking the winters on in the next few weeks.

Lots of other nice cars on the road but the only other GRY was another mk2 in white.

Sadly I scored an eco score of 0 😎

Bucket seats do make a huge difference.
I've had my Pole Positions for about 2 years now and they're the single most important mod I've done to the car, given that they've made the car much more ergonomic to use, thus making it more special and also more comfortable to use when driving quickly. I can highly recommend this mod to anyone that is still on the fence.
Just as I have the money ready for that mod Recaro goes bankrupt and halts production. I really hope they get some fresh money and continue production next year.

New wheel day.

Speedline Turini deep dish in Anthracite.
18x8 ET35 with 60.1 pre installed metal spigot rings and centre caps.
Worth mentioning that the Speedline supplied nuts have a 6mm extended shank that sit perfectly inside the wheel stud holes.
Also the Toyota TPMS sensors fit and work perfectly.
Big thanks to fellow member Simon for his advice and also a big shout out to Matthew at Speedline uk 01952-582825.

Which variant are those?

I only hear good things about KW so they really seem to know what they are doing.
The V4 clubsport. They are supposed to be more a track suspension.

I have V4 Clubsports on mine and although it is brilliant on track I find it too hard for the road.
Yes, that is what I assume I will feel too. I really felt really good with the stock suspension on the track, but this should be an obvious upgrade.

I have these wheels and tyres on my other car! Well almost, they're SportContact 3s and on 17" Speedlines.

Speedlines are still looking good after 22+ years...
Nice one 👍🏻

This is my 3rd set of Turini’s, previous ones on a couple of my Subaru’s a few years back.
Always loved them. 🥰👍🏻

Removed the clinker/tag nuts from the fuel tank guard, zinc primed then some random black paint.
It's not something I expected to do on a 3 year old Toyota 😕
I did try warranty but apparently its just surface rust, surprisingly tapping with a little toffee hammer seemed to make the surface rust drop of in flakes 😅

Bronze and the grey is a great look ^^. I drove mine for the first time in 10 days just now, with it being a little chilly it was like a grumpy teenager and took a bit of time for things to warm up, the steering and suspension felt a little rough, as did the gear change.

We also got a Škoda Kamiq as our main every day car so was reminded of the difference in feel when you put the foot down or turn into a corner. Once it was up to speed though, was reminded of how good it is as a car. Skoda is good for keeping miles down on the Yaris however and much comfier on the roads.

Will put winter wheels on this weekend, I think.

Got visited by a client at work today who drives a mk1 convenience pack. While comparing cars in the car park I noticed a chip in my windscreen 😩 Insurance have told me to take to dealer and will cover it.

maybe they can repair/recover it? (instead of replacing)

Just the down side of using it as a daily on these mild Estonian roads with no snow or ice but many people still using studs. I’ve noticed the roads are so much dirtier too this week. Can’t wait for the cold weather to hit.
