Winter tires are on 
Finally I can hear something else than insane tire noise from PS4s, but that's the price for performance I guess. Running Goodyear Ultragrips Performance 3s which I got last winter, originally I wanted Alpines from Michelin but stock was basically non existent considering I received the car in January. Overall great tire in wet, haven't been lucky to test them in snow but I plan multiple skiing trips this season so maybe I'll be lucky.
And of course major battle ahead... TPMS recognition
Last winter I was extremely lucky, they got paired after ~30 seconds. So far no luck today.
Update: TPMS after a short drive synced up, mission complete

Caved and filled each tyre with exactly 1 PSI of our finest N2 O2 mix at an ambient temperature of 10c and reset the TPMS to shut it up. Annoyingly the GR feels a bit understeery with the fronts at the recommended 32 PSI when cold.
That's what I saw in Hastings. Toyota here have screwed GR badges on pretty much everything mostly with some unique stuff on board. Bit like BM and M sport badges. They'd put them on a shopping trolley if it would result in a sale.

Yeah its a little bit of a shame for the brand dilution aspect, but there we go and everything seems to have it now. I guess it justifies the initial investment into the Yaris' marketing boost. My parents have a GR Sport Corolla, its quite funny when I park the Yaris up next to it.
In my Yaris today I noticed a little bit of a vibration from the front left at times, I am hoping it was the road surface as it went on smoother tarmac (or could be that infamous 3k rpm vibration that there's a thread about). Nothing seemed off when I checked.
Its service is almost due so also wondering about getting the noise cancellation turned off (fine with the fake engine sound). Am I correct in thinking that paradoxically, this can reduce the interior noise? It is crazy how loud it has felt in recent times.
GR and GR Sport came out in 2017 on a Vitz and Prius. I suspect it’s more as you own a GR you spot them more.

Yeah, basically nearly all major manufacturers have been doing this for some time now, Hyundai with n-line, VW with r-line, obvious creator of this trend BMW with their M packets and so on. Honestly can't blame manufacturers for this when people actually like to spec these, pretty simple cash grab. At least I think in some cases they tune suspensions for more sportier drive, not only the visual packs.
Also doesn't the new RAV4 GR Sport actually get increased horsepower and more sportier suspension? So maybe Toyota will actually introduce more in between models which are not full GRs but at least with some power and suspension tuning.

Rotated the tyres. Loving these contisport 7s. Awesome wet grip. Very decent dry grip.

I think my brake squeal is 10 times worse on this set of wheels compared to stock Funny thing is that it only happens in reverse, front braking is completely fine. But considering I reverse park everywhere I always get a "what a f- idiot" look There is less space between disks and brake calipers so probably there is lot of brake dust buildup.

She's looking clean. I need to get my ass in gear and put my winters on before the snow arrives! Im 500km off of 40,000km now!
Fitted winter wheels Sunday. Snowed today. TPMS last year needed waking by Autel scanner swapping back to OEM in summer auto detected. Not so much luck at the moment. Fortunately I saved the codes so should be able to register without a scanner when I have time.
Hmm, i just pushed tyre rotation as i had mine cloned for the second set, after adjusting pressures and driving for a bit it found the locations and all was correct, if you have it stored as second set just push that option and look what happens ?
