GR Yaris What did you do to your GR Yaris today?

I can see you are in Brisbane, but do you know how Sydney is fairing as I have friends there.
Sydney is fine, northern rivers copped more rain than us and flooding is continuing to develop in some places. The now low is heading west without the winds so more localised flooding but not the destructive winds tearing trees out of the ground. We got off very lightly there are areas along the coast from northern NSW to double island point in Qld where the beaches are just gone. They will come back but it will take some time.

This morning I waved at another GR driver going the other way.

And this afternoon I embarked on the scariest activity that a man can embark on... entering and leaving a multistorey car park with flippin' expensive alloys - made it out unscathed.

I think they should film a documentary or something to show how difficult it is to drive in & out of car parks & how unfit for purpose their design is in that sense.

I remember once deliberately checking how others navigate the tight corners at exit points, etc to see if it's just me who finds curbs hard to avoid and ends up manauvering for ages.

It turns out they're tight for everyone. It's just that others drove over curbs, etc. Lots of marks on sidewalls, bollards, etc suggesting the same.

I hate with the whole of my heart all those invisible curbs that wait only for damaging your lower bumper and your alloys in any multistorey car park.
I'm pretty sure they are designed by evil frustrated people who hate sportscars.
Anytime I picked up a new car in the past, the first damage I had to sustain (and then the most hearth-breaking one) was always done by one of these damned curbs.
My Nissan GT-R, my Impreza Solberg, my first new GRY, all fell victims of these evil snipers made of concrete, once they were still fresh from the dealer 🤬

Optimism came over me, and I switched to summer tires on Sunday.

10cm of snow on the ground today!

If you back in this thread to last year, I think you will find a similar post from me. A new tradition, I guess.
I usually do this! Took me 5 years of mistakes for me to always second guess switching to summer tyres.

Earliest i am contemplating summer tyres THIS year is April, plenty of minus degrees nights ahead looking at the forecast. Usually beginning of May if there has been a proper winter, this year a lot of heat records for March and Febraury have been broken.

Gave mine a good clean yesterday using BiltHambers finest - I really recommend the touch-less pre wash/snow foam. Woke up this morning to a car covered in snow.. ffs

I'm a big fan of Bilt Hamber products but not used their or any other snow foam up until now? I've just looked at the new Touch-Less product which looks good, and being biodegradable, I'll give it a whirl.

Do you apply with pressure washer or pump spray?

Took my fresh Conti SportContact7 for a first test. Switched from winter ones so can't make a direct comparison with PS4S, but I have a feeling they do offer a bit more grip in these conditions and are a tiny bit more direct. Stock size tyre, 8.5" rim. 3°C, moderate rain, lots of streams across the road, gravel and tree pollution on the road.

I use it in pump spray (2 litre one I got from local B&Q style place), took it to local jet wash bay and just blasted the car with touch-less before driving into bay. Now the weather is warming up and snow is melting, I will but going to give it a whirl as a snow foam once I got my hose/pressure washer set up and out of winter storage.

Washed the family cars. Quite sticky dirt especially in sills, maybe needs extra wax to get it faster in future.
edit. did the other side of the car with Fusso wax - wow what a difference does it make in terms of car's shape!

Today I did the first ride of 2025, saw the first stupid racing cyclists who, as usual, don't ride at the side of the road, realised that my Goodyears are finished, ordered new Yokohama A052, made an appointment for suspension adjustment in April and third service in May.

3rd summer is coming with the GR, is and remains a great car and always puts a grin on my face.

Yeah, had a couple of pearlescent black cars in the past and in the sun they just pop.

When clean, of course, which was rarely 😂
