GR86 What are your plans for the GR86?

1. Ceramic coating or PPF (less likely)
2. Duckbill and TRD wing fins after PCP paid off

Anyone knows how easy it would be to remove the duckbill spoiler if using 3M tape method. Is it likely to damage paint?

Not planning to sell/return. But you never know what can happen in the future.

I’m looking to get the ducktail spoiler and may consider getting the amplified engine sound in the cabin turned off, but will give it a chance first.

Then just planning to drive it lots and taking the backroads instead of dual carriageways and motorways. 😁

I was under the impression that a lot of manufacturers use 3M adhesive on spoilers, no?

Although admittedly most of those are thin spoilers rather than a chunky duckbill.

They do and are NOT easy to remove. I’m guessing that Toyota will be wanting to be 100% sure the Duckbill will not part company under any circumstances hence the 4 fixings🤔
 
That install video in the duckbill thread says 6 bolts but 4 of them are held on to the spoiler with 3M tape anyway

Yeah, I'm not drilling holes unless I absolutely have to. The 3M tape is used for both air stabalisers and fins, so must be strong enough.

By the time we get one, there should be plenty of feedback from those in the US.

Folks are worried about holes for number plates , 3M Rules 🤣

I think you need to move to a nicer town if people near you go round trying to pull spoilers off cars :ROFLMAO: How do they know if it's 3M'd or bolted?!

Personally I've never had either of your 2 scenarios happen on previous cars, and I'll pay the £600 that Fensport are asking rather than go to whoever wants to charge you £1000 (y)

Ay? What they gonna do with it? 😅

Who is going to go up to a GR86 or any car for that matter and go, " Oh I'm having the spoiler off that, I bet its only held on with 3M tape too"

I had been hoping to get it wrapped in bright green akin to the other thread on roof wrapping, however I priced up the TRD bodykit on Fen Sport and it works out at £200 cheaper than the wrap! (Duckbill, Side skirts, Front Lip, Rear Bumper), so now im thinking do Iget the full TRD kit (which I do love the look of) and then just get some green or white racing stripes and side decal added akin to the ones that were available on the german configurator...

Duckbill (Already ordered)

Nothing else really for now.
 
First job will be to change the wheel colour - thinking a bronze or something - I don't like black alloys.
Then maybe a ducktail spoiler and a bit louder cat back exhaust . I'll add various coatings to the paintwork myself.
I had all manor of 'stiffening' devices attached to my GT86, but I doubt I'll bother this time.

A quick question - does it have gas struts on the bonnet ?
