Immediate plans on receiving the car:

2. Wheels
3. Some form of body kit or aero.

The Toms front lip and side skirts look quite subtle, one of the nicest I’ve see so far 😎 They also do a duckbill spoiler which looks similar to the Toyota one 👍

Yes, I am aware of that but I heard that the Tom’s duck tail is a bit shorter than the GR one .

1. PPF
2. Catback exhaust & remove fake exhaust noise
3. ST Coilovers
4. Slightly wider 18" alloy - TBC but will be chasing clean fitment 😁

1. Roof Wrapped Black
2. Rear Windows Tinted to 15% (not Limo tint as that looks silly (to me))
3. Get it new car detailed - ceramic coating, any dealer related paint imperfections corrected etc.
4. Remove sound generator / unplug it.
5. Cat-back probably an Invidia Q300/N1 not quite decided yet.
6. Duckbill spoiler (because we don't get it. Stupid...)
7. Enjoy car

---- big pause (ie, another 1-2 years after the above)

8. Na tuning
9. Supercharger

I will at some point get this car supercharged, but I will be patient and let people be guinea pigs first. I plan to keep this car for 5+ years.

Quite a few of you have mentioned PPF... for the cost I just don't think it's worth it. Unless prices have come right down, you were looking at better part of £2k for a good system just to cover the "danger zones". It's not too much more for an entire respray and you get the advantage of picking a colour you want... Porsche RS Green is somewhat of a favourite haha.

HKS should have their supercharger on the market by mid year I believe. From the photos I’ve seen it looks a very tidy setup. Should be interesting to watch the tuning development on this car 🤔

Auto electric blue
No mods planned. I think the GR86 addresses all shortcomings of the old car for me.
Lots of school pick ups/city driving and use the car as daily driver/short distance family transport. We have a larger family car so long trips are done in that.
I will probably replace halogen indoor lights to led at some stage as I did why the GT86.

For you guys that are looking to fit a catback exhaust - will you be fitting one made originally for the GT86 or will you wait for the new stuff to come out?

I’m going to wait, will probably stick with a GPF back system of some sort. Would just like to give it a nice burble without going so far as unequal headers and a map so early in the warranty period.

I've ordered an Electric Blue Manual.

Reading this and other threads made me rethink what I'll want to do with the car, but I think I'll be looking at the below:

Within week 1 - full ceramic coat protection (I find PPF to be too expensive, not always visually appealing and I'll do my own paint correction in the future)
1 month - disable the "fake" engine noise in the cabin if I dislike it (but give enough time to know if I prefer it on or not)
3 months - paint brake calipers blue or black
6-12 months - audio system upgrade
1-2 years - duckbill spoiler
3 years - exhaust upgrade and ECU remap
5+ years - supercharger?

1. Ceramic coat & front end PPF
2. Buckdill spoiler
3. Respray stock wheels (satin black = gross)
4. Ark Grip catback
5. Fujitsubo front pipe (off my GT86)
6. Reyland/AP BBK off my GT86
7. Audio mods depending on how lame the stock setup is
8. Stuff

1. Ceramic Coat and tell dealers no cleaning and no stickers in windows
2. Ducktail spoiler
3. Better disks and pads
4. Lighter wheels (GT7 is good to show what works in your colour)
5. Exhaust, manifold, map, filter, etc. But this is a few years away

I'll probably go down the custom route, as I'd really like a Ti exhaust.
However if that doesn't happen, I'd rather wait for the GR specific stuff as there is some slight differences in layout.

I was pretty happy with the GT86 apart from the torque dip, which I fixed with an Ace header and remap. But then I still wasn't keen on the sound.
Assuming the GR86 has fixed the torque dip, which it sounds like, and the performance should be better anyway, then I don't think I want any performance mods.

However, a catback exhaust might be on the cards, but I will see what the car sounds like stock first...I don't like the idea of artificial sound through the speakers, but at the same time, the FA20 wasn't a really nice sounding engine. I cant see the FA24 sounding any more pleasant, so will need something to improve it.

Definitely new stuff designed for GR86.

Hks has already released HKS spec L ii for GR86.
