Interesting 10 have been SORN’ed - would you get nearly the full £1k first year road tax back if you did that?

Nope. You'd only get the lower rate refunded, even if you SORN'd it on the day it's registered.

Your vehicle tax is cancelled and you get a refund for any full months of remaining tax when you tell DVLA you no longer have the vehicle or it's off the road

On another note, we should be getting updated GR86 figures this month for Q4 '23, which should include the vast majority of the UK's GR86 allocation (only a handful was registered this year by all accounts).

Did you manage to buy one? I picked one up at the weekend, then found out the road tax had been cancelled, and panicked that I'd have to pay a fortune - but I just had to pay the £180 for 12 months tax. Although it does indeed come out of the original buyer's pocket, it's part of the original...

Data to end of December 2023 should be published in the next month by DVLA.

However we know some cars were registered this year so final figures will need to wait.

1500 is the expected number.
 
I thought the data was quartley, so since its April / 2nd quarter maybe the data was available to end of year 2023.

As you say there’s likely another 🤷‍♂️ 50 or so on from whatever that figure is.
 
So is that the final number then? Or can more be registered up until the end of 2024?

I imagine these last last ones are pre registered so should be counted. I think whoever said 1500 was the total did well!

Electric Blue that was the most ordered colour on the 1st batch release should now be the rarest as it was not available on the other 1000 extra released cars.
I imagine 100 maybe?
