GR Yaris The waiting game...

My GRY is still waiting for transit :( They finished building it mid July.

Dealer said estimated arrival date is September 4th but that's not gonna work, is it?

You can see my current status in the screenshot attached.

The German translation of the steps "Finished Production" and "In Transit" is a bit misleading to me. So I don't know whether the next update will be when the car arrives in Zeebrugge, or shall the status proceed to the next step when the transit from the factory begins?

The complimenting sentences for both statuses do not clarify the situation either. Perhaps the English version is clearer? What does it read?

I just hope my car is already in transit, and the next update comes when the vessel arrives at Zeebrugge.

Can somebody in the forum clarify this? Thank you in advance.

For me it was 6 weeks from Left the factory to in transit if I remember correctly. After that it's quick... 2 days or so and it's at the dealer. (Germany)

To keep the tension high, I tracked the ship with the Marine Traffic app :).

How did you find out which was the right ship? Did Toyota tell you?

Yeah, mine was about five weeks at sea, then about three weeks until I picked it up, so two months from the factory dispatch.

No, you just have to extrapolate from the shipping dates. When there were a lot in transit, Brasso used to keep an eye on the ships so we knew which ones were likely to be carrying GRs.

I would also like to know how to find the ship. Got the β€œleft factory” notification on the 18th of July. For my Swedish order.

There used to be a moderator here, who always knew and communicated this. his name was Brasso.
I know, I read the stickies :D

I believe this is our ship: MORNING CLARA
The measurements are correct (199x32) and it's headed from Livorno to Bristol, expected to arrive at August 20th. Will probably be arriving at Zeebrugge a day or two later.

Edit: I found the previous stops and it seems even more likely that this ship has my GRY! I got the "left the factory" message at July 12th.

I also called my dealer again. The ETA for my GRY is now September 1st, so it's guaranteed to be on a ship already. So the status updates in the Toyota tracking are kinda misleading.

After just over two years, I finally can finish the waiting game. :)

Here is a short info on the delivery. The dealer called me 1.6.2023 and told me that the car is planned for production and should arrive in mid-August. Three weeks later, I got the VIN and the name of the ship. Morning Claire was a bit lazy and arrived in Zeebrugge after six weeks on sea. Ten days later, the GR Yaris arrived at the dealer in south Germany.
The myT App did not work for me, it showed the car after I had the VIN but never any update on the delivery status.
Despite the long wait, I am quite happy how things worked out with the dealer and all.
More on the car later, I am just back from a week in the Dolomites with this incredible car. :D

Mine was apparently on Miraculous Ace and my car is on its way to the dealer since 16.8. Could be any day now :)

It's nice that they seem to be allowing some to go to Germany at long last! You guys seem to have been at the back of the queue.

Did Toyota DE do something to piss off Toyota JP?

My dealer confirmed to me that Toyota is delivering cars in a random order to Germany and not chronologically. They have orders from September, July, June arriving soon but they also have orders from April still waiting with no info. He said he doesn't know why and they stopped questioning things a while ago.

Knowing my luck, mine will be one of the last ones to arrive.

Hi guys. I finally decided to moove on. The experience with the dealer, the two years wait and me getting way to much into the details of the cars had left me kinda exhausted. So I am putting some distance in between.

Currently I am driving the N of my dear brother for some month. Quite fun. It's not that puristic approach I like, but more of an entertainment. Popopopop

Half a year to not think about but drive a car. :)

It was real fun to be part of this community. Many things learned. Many good talks. Was a pleasure.

But I am going for now. Maybe I will be a part of the Zoo some time πŸ˜€ really would like to. But at the moment we are planning for a looong Scandinavia trip. @Onehp time to take a look at the wooden city πŸ˜‰

To add, I wish you all the best fun with your GRY especially the long runners. πŸ˜€ may the boost be with you!

Hey ho Zoo!

i would like to report back. No, i do not have a GRY yet. BUT I am owner of a fresh little ND MX-5.:LOL: i am excited how our friendship will go.

So guess i am true to the RPM-NA-Engine-Cult after all. Just not a Honda but a Mazda. JDM FTW!

Enjoy that totally different, yet also highly emotional and entertaining experience.
