GR Yaris The waiting game...

Funny enough, the dealer keeps saying September or October 22, like he thinks i am stupid as bread. When I was answering, that's at least one month ago, he really said: in my system it's September or October 2022.... jeez.

So I called toyota japan. Up to 24 month for German orders... when I finally get the car, ride high will be just fine. Just need some space in the boot for the walker.
 
Nightmare. It really does seem that every day later in placing an order from around Jan 2021 caused about an additional two days of delay.

It will come though, and all will be good in the world… 😁

At one point for each week of sales delivery changed a month.

I have no sympathy though for those in the UK the deposits were low and refundable so orders could have been placed sooner ;)
 
Meh, I can see why people didn't. Finance checks go along with the order so if you didn't want to do all that before you'd even decided you liked the thing is a fair enough reason to just not yolo on a pre-order.

Finance wasn’t linked to putting an order in.
 
Obviously not because not everyone who wanted one needed finance but for the people who were using Toyota finance they did that at order time.

So if you maybe wanted finance, and weren't necessarily sure on the car yet your only option was to wait, otherwise you're getting credit checks
 
To be honest, at first I wasn't that interested in the GRY and way more into the GR86. But I got bored and looked some specs and techs of the GRY and this was the point I got hooked. Many were caught on Rally Special, on AWD, on power and so on. For me it was the engine technology and the simplicity but clever approach the GRY took. So I was quite late to the party.

Waiting isn't my problem at all. But waiting without any clue or hint, no date and nothing to plan with drains me quite a lot... 🤔

I put a deposit down without any discussion of finance or credit checks. Finance was only done when the car was in country.
 
Good news everyone! My dealer mailed me and said: he contacted toyota and has to tell me there is no estimated delivery date. You know, that chip shortage and so on.

Seriously... what a waste of time writing and reading such a mail.

That just sounds fishy at this point. Dealers everywhere seem to be able to give at least an estimated date, why is yours uniquely unable to give one?

Actually I asked several times and he always was saying September 2022. After that date I asked two times more and after he said he can't tell me any date and will contact me if there is something new. So I stopped asking. And now this mail?

That's what I was thinking about too. I straightforward asked him if there is really an order and he showed me the confirmation. But the app does not work here. So I can't use the tracking. I also used the ordering number and asked toyota via service. They confirmed the order but said There is no delivery date. I getting the feeling it's just a waiting list slot and there are to much orders still in the pipeline. Either way, I can't do anything but wait. I try to no longer try to plan with the car. If it pops up I am happy. If not I stick to my current car some more time.
 
Ahh well, that would give me some comfort.

Still sucks for you though.

The App dont have to work. You have to create a toyota account on the toyota website. All the Dealer has to do after this is connecting your order to your toyota account. After he did this you can use the chrome developer tool trick (dont know if its still working) to track your car.

Wish I'd known this when I was waiting for mine!
 
So, I've got a KB order number but with no indication from the dealer when the car will arrive. Has anybody else got a KB order and been given a delivery date? Starting to get a bit fed up now as it's been on order since 4th July 2021 :(

I’ve seen on the Facebook groups some KB orders being delivered/shipped.

Should have ordered earlier 😉
 
If it helps ordered mine June 6th 2021 and collected 28th December 2022 JY order.
And it's worth the wait 😁
