I doubt even Toyota UK know the answer to that!

However at the same time the whole time people are waiting it keeps people talking I guess so even if it annoys some it will undoubtedly bring in more sales.

I think you’re right Robin. Not saying anything officially is keeping quite a few (potential GRY purchasers) interested. It’s also potentially not certain yet, such is the changing situation with parts supply / prices so they are hedging their bets.

What is certain though, is if they make any more, they won’t be for sale in the UK at the previous price point.
 
Toyota UK must have some idea of what likely to happen. They have made the significant move of updating their website to remove most of the GR Yaris content.

Waiting until lots of PCPs due the final lump sum payment and then they get lots of those cars back just as the model’s officially discontinued?

Not sure many would just hand it back, the balloon payment is likely to be less than the cars worth...
 
You can have mine for 33500 in a year and a half when the PCP is up.
 
Waiting list still is useful for Toyota until everyone who has actually ordered has taken delivery. Sure, not that many will cancel but that wait list is still an opportunity to sell another new GRY at today's price.

I think the list will exist until the last GR is picked up.

I think February is likely although there has been continued slipping despite no factory shutdowns so I wouldn’t be shocked if the last car gets here by April.

I’ve said it before but this would also tie in with vin 25000 around the feb time which was the original build number.
 
Picking up my second GR on the 16th hopefully and if the VIN is anything to go by its 21961 off the line I wonder if they will do the 25000 or fall short.

It’s around 750pm produced and with 2 months left and 4-6 weeks between collecting your car and it leaving the factory then 25,000 is spot on I’d say.

before i call my dealer and raise hell, what is your source for this? when i paid the deposit in july last year i specced a car, got an estimated delivery date, it really felt like theres a car being built to my spec for me... then about 2 weeks after i did all that at the dealer i heard through the grapevine that they'd closed the order books. how do i know if im waiting for MY car or if im waiting on some reserve list for someone who's actually getting a car to drop off the real list?

When you call your dealer ask for the order number and/or a screen shot of the order on the system and current status there is no reason why they would not give you this, I have been given all this info for both my orders.

theyre telling me that since I did the order online that the next update either of us will have (me or the dealer) will be an email from toyota to me.

i did tell them after they told me that that im very disappointed that i went to a dealer to avoid dealing with this nonsense and that they just did the online order in my name for me and made it my problem anyways...

Although if they've placed an order you should have been getting updates with an ORCA reference

As you’ve previously mentioned a wait list I assumed you didn’t have a proper order in. Do you have a receipt for your £500? Is that from Toyota UK or the dealer?
 
I’ll be giving them until Feb then if still no news getting my £500 deposit back and buying used.
