Just had this from Toyota UK - I signed up for the waiting list on the day it went live last summer, and I'm in the top 100 on the list.

Hi Chris,

We're very sorry to inform you that due to unprecedented demand, GR Yaris has now sold out for 2022.

You're #7# on the waiting list, click on the link below to stay on the waiting list until 2023 and we will update you early next year with information on availability.

You also have a range of other options to explore, including discovering alternative models in our GR series.
 
Yeah, got the same - 80-odd on the list.

New GRYs aren't happening for people on this list anytime soon!
 
As this news filters out it will be interesting to see what the asking prices are on Autotrader. And also if the ones on offer start getting snapped up. Already something of a useful barometer for the Yaris GR market….
 
I got the email, and it didn't even give me a waiting list number :-(
 
“sold out for 2022”?

The Yaris GR hasn’t been available to order since mid 2021 has it? So, as I see this, it’s an odd statement.

I think this is letting folk down gently and a further statement in a few months to tell us Yaris GR production has ceased.

The silver lining to all this might well be the opportunity to order a Corolla GR……we will see.

Just my take on all this.

Same for me, I joined the list 2nd Jan. So very late compared to some others.
 
I think Toyota are trying to qualify how many people are still potentially interested in the car. The mailshot has a link to confirm whether you still wish to remain on the waiting list.

My gut feeling is they will do a final run in '23 and it will be maybe another 250 - 500 cars. I know of someone who is 400 or so on the list, so maybe their is a numbered list up to 500 and anyone later than this is unlikely to be offered a build slot. I'm sure Toyota expect the list to reduce a few hundred once people action the email, as some won't be serious, timing is poor, lifestyle changes, they have bought another car, or they have already bought a GR Yaris.

I'm in that camp, but will make a call when finally offered.

Depending on market conditions at the time it might make sense to sell mine and get a new one :)

Same, I am 146 on the list. I signed up on the first day or two, then landed a cancellation a couple of weeks later

I doubt in the UK there will be an opportunity for the Corolla especially if they’re all being built in Japan.

As above….you put your name and email address in. A lot of those would probably not go on to buy when the time comes.
 
Id be happy just to get my first GR...let alone on the list for another!!:ROFLMAO:
