GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Given some people are expecting them any week* now can you even get them insurance? Have they been added to the insurance database.

I've just requested that my order be changed from Ignition Red to Electric Blue, which I was told will likely give me one of the last UK cars delivered.

I'm hardly bothered about the wait; for me the GR86 is mostly a long term plan to have a classic-format, involving sports car well into the EV-only future, even though it'd be fun now too.

The car was in Derby already, so the good news is that someone else should be getting their red manual car sooner than expected!

Today at 4.30pm I had a missed call from the buy online team and then listened with amazed joy a few mins later at a voicemail telling me that I am the very lucky person on the order list that your Ignition Red manual has been reallocated to - thank you!

After a month of checking the MyT app for any movement from "order processing" I have skipped nearly all the steps and now have "In transit - DERBYSHIRE". No tracking vessels for me.

The voicemail did say the car would be with my nominated deal by mid-August which may give some others an idea of when to expect the deliveries to happen.

Sorry to everyone else who was also maybe hoping that they may get this very lucky opportunity - cheers @Mr Oblong
 
Great news! ... I think we should turn the wait back on Toyota now and no one get a car registered until 1st September if they're all going to be mid-August! :ROFLMAO:
 
😄 that's ace! I had wondered how they would deal with that. I suspected it would be too difficult to 'move everyone forward 1' and your order suggests that is the case. Congrat's

Its a very interesting feeling 😁

The same thing happened to me with my GRY, 3-4 months early with only a day or two notice of arrival at the dealership (y)
 
Good news!
For my 11:00 order, my dealer emailed me to tell me that it is due for delivery in September!

Then reality set in and I remembered that Toyota can’t even keep the dealerships in the loop as mine is still at the processing stage 🤣😭

I guess it's because the color codes were messed up in Toyotas order system. i ordered spaphire blue, but it showed up as a red car in myT. my dealer had to re enter my order which caused my order reference number to increase. at one point i had both a red car and a blue car listed on myT.

I had the same, vise versa.
I googled the color code myself and told my dealer which one to order ;)
 
Just had my welcome call about the GR86 I ordered "recently".
I have nothing to add to the previous posts on the topic of the call - I spoke with a polite lady who apologised for the faff I'd experienced but the purpose of the call was really just to check my details and the order details.

She said NONE of the cars coming to the UK have been built yet - I said that's odd because some people's status show their orders as not just built but already here in the UK, but she wasn't sure what was going on there. I was told to expect my car "next year".

I mean... there are literally pictures of them on the forum on the back of a transport truck...
 
I gave my dealer a call yesterday to see if they had a demo car in the pipeline, salesman asked what I’d heard on the forums etc and he asked was there anything mentioned about them being delayed until January as that was a rumour he had heard. Probably the usual rumours with no real substance but I’m not expecting my car until next year despite being told October.

Has anyone had a car go into build within the last few weeks?
