GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Hey all, I ordered my 86 with a manual and electric blue paint (for the list @AndyRC)

Ayup and welcome, added you at #193 on The List in post #1 ✅👍😎. There are quite a few of us in Yorkshire and plenty of places to meet up , Oil Can Cafe , The Motorist , NY500 so spoilt for choice 👍

Has anyone thrown the towel in yet?
My October the 17th is now ‘next year’ from the note my dealer sent me .

Ordered it like many of us based on the 12 week Leadtime advertised , utterly awful comms from Toyota and now an undefined delivery?

What I’m finding very odd is that considering the only options we have are colour and transmission, plus they’d need to gear up for right hand drive batches in production etc…why they haven’t just run the UK limited quantity of 400 in one run? Since they’re the pioneers of Kaizen / Lean production etc it makes no sense ??

Had a great experience with my GR Yaris , but this time round it’s pretty shocking how badly they’ve got it.

I'm very close. It was always going to be a stop gap before my Emira arrived. 12 weeks at the point of ordering would have been perfect, but it might now be later than the Lotus.

The excitement has worn off as well, not having any idea as to when it's going to arrive and hearing nothing in the interim has pretty much killed it.

I will be actively looking for another car as I have no faith in seeing my GR anytime this year.

If you do decide to back out of the deal, someone else will be very happy

Or you can keep the order, sell it at a premium when it finally shows up & then two people will be happy (y):)

I'm starting to waiver, communication has been awful , still no phone call & no idea when I will see the car, I don't want to throw the towel in as I am hoping the car will be great but I am getting concerned that no one has taken delivery yet something just doesn't seem right.

I don't think it's worth spitting your dummy over it, the whole market is messed up and the situation is what it is. Better off putting the car to the back of your mind, assume a 2023 delivery and work around that.

I have a car fortunately to see me through summer and then I will get a stop gap car after that and with some careful selection I hope to pick something that will be depreciation free.

I'm definitely getting bored with the lack of information and the lead time stretching further and further into the distance. I've been looking at Jag XE-S's today...

It would be something if we had some UK road tests or videos, the fact the press cars appeared and then vanished with no mention of them or further social media posts is odd too. Not one spotted lately after the initial flurry?

I’m thinking they forgot to fit something like the GPF which would also then have to be mapped in, I mean with port injection it shouldn’t really need it but I think they’re mandatory now.

I'm still yet to hear anything but my current finance has finally been extended (thankfully!) - but only for 12 months. God knows what I have to do if I've not received my GR by then, given I've had no call or updates from anyone since my order went onto MyT I'm not expecting anything in that timeframe 🤣

This is what I have done with a Meg 275 Trophy. Problem now is that it's bloody brilliant and i'll be sad to see it go, hey ho

For those thinking of cancelling I’ve created a dedicated thread for you so we can keep all of the other threads on track and as upbeat as possible , there is enough 🤬 in the world at the moment and I’d like to visit the Zoo for good humour and a healthy dose of positivity please 👍 I’m one of the “Lucky 400” and intended to wait patiently for the car to arrive , some day in 2023 🤞. Must check with TUK if I expire before it arrives does it automatically pass to No1 son 🤔

Note to self - change will next week

Any “I’m thinking of cancelling” posts in other threads “I will find you , and I will move you” , sorry to sound like Liam Neeson 😂

I’ve even added music for you to listen to 👍😉

PS anyone of the 1000+ folk on the waiting list will be VERY happy , especially person at #1

Probably something to do with manually entering the orders on Toyota system one by one. Potentially a bit of a gap between the first and last order.

Hi. I’ve joined today so a newbie. I have a GR86 on order and keep checking MyT for the status to progress to in build. I’ve gone for manual in Magnetite Grey. I also have a GR Yaris Circuit Pack in Scarlett Flare on order but with an anticipated 2023 delivery (order placed Sept 2021). I have a private plate of GR04 CUP. Coming out of a Mk7 Golf GTI DSG. I can only afford one of the Toyotas so think it’ll have to be the GR86 for the scarcity value. First world problems! I hope they’ve got excellent air con. 🥵

Welcome. If the air con is anything like in the current GT86 then it will be excellent. However, I'm pretty sure summer will be long gone before most of us see our cars anyway :D
