Well I guess the guy I spoke to at TUK last week was kind of right when he said I would be contacted in 1-2 weeks….

Right, bit odd. At least you have an ORCA number, supposedly means you will get a car.Yep, but I was a slightly later at 10.44. Not had any updates, Toyota haven't responded to my email from 2 weeks ago and haven't had the generic email of today either
My ORCA email was from the same address ([email protected]) as the mailing list emails so you would think if that got through, then they all would.

If the time matters I was 10.44 precisely also, and had mail today.....pick up the phone to Toyota if you haven't received the generic mail and ask the question.Yep, but I was a slightly later at 10.44. At least someone else is having the same experience, my ORCA wasn't until 12:36, and other than the 2 original emails one with the order confirmation and a 2nd just after with the ORCA, I've had no emails and no reply to email sent to Toyota 27/4/22 + now no generic sit tight emailThat's very strange then, I could understand if it was a different email address! .I called Toyota a couple of weeks ago and just got yes you have an order number but no car until its ordered by us (not yes you will get a car just hold tight until we order it)??? clear as mud. Just going off what others have heard now that ORCA = car, given Toyota have sat on £1000 for lots of buyers for a month pretty sh*t would be an understatement if there is no car.

if they're saying 12 months for contact with ETAs that screws me over because I'll have needed to arranged what I'm doing with my GT86 finance agreement by then, and I need the ETA to do so. Don't really fancy refinancing it and being credit searched AGAIN in such a short space of time, nor do I want to pay £7k for a car I'm not keeping decisions decisions!

Yes I even said I don't care if its 2 years time in my email, just could you let me know if I will be getting a carI agree, I just want to know what's going on
so I know what to do with selling what it would be replacing and budgeting. Don't blame you only good thing is that GT86's seem to be holding value if not increasing as I had looked at these for the last 18 months but decided to hold out for the GR86.I'm going to try calling Toyota again tomorrow now as well, will be interesting to see if you get the same story when you call them regarding ordering and the generic email.

Nope - not had the call, so I have no idea on my ETA. I don't understand why people are making complaints, it's all a bit embarrassing.
I got an email this morning to reassure me a little. They will call in 12 weeks. I thought they’d deliver the car in 12 weeks.
10:12 ORCA. Dealer says delivery 14 September.

I received the email today… roughly four hours after the MyT app pinged me to say my car has left the factory!

It is because Toyota UK is not doing a good job on updating their customers and the whole buying process is so messy. I do understand that everyone do have different standard about what is good or bad tho.
It's taken a while for Toyota to realise their communication has been rubbish & send out this email (although some seem to have been missed) but hey at least we've heard something but 12 weeks to contact 400 customers that's about 7 calls a day they don't exactly sound overworked!
But we asked for some communication & I suppose we got some so nothing to do but wait.
I am certain I won't see my car this summer so I would prefer it to arrive next spring but it will probably be here in the middle of winter!

Its great that we are still attracting more owners , @TheJINDRA in Czech Republic 
and @Baxhald in the U.K.

A bit like Toyota I didn’t expect the interest in the GR86 forum on here to be as popular as it is and we are approaching 50% of all of the GR86s coming to the U.K.
To easily see the U.K. owners I’ve split “The List” in #1 into “U.K.“ and “Outside of the U.K“ , I will back fill the three gaps with any new U.K. owners.
Should we get enough interest we can create separate threads by Country , we have three members on here from the Czech Republic, @Moses , @Karlosak and @TheJINDRA.
Whilst I appreciate there is a lot of interest around ”The Email” this thread is now well over the times the length of the “Snowpiercer” (and Big Alice) , lets try and keep it “on track“ , excuse the pun
