GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Toyota no different from most other manufactures. Poor communication because they don’t really know what the factory can produce from one week to the next v buyers who seem to live in a world where everything has to be immediate. My first new car ordered in 1982 was a factory order and took 8 months.

For all the hassle Toyota is getting for bringing a great car to the U.K. at a bargain price they must be thinking let’s just cancel the 400 ordered from the factory. Keep selling 4 wheel drives and Aygo’s keep life simple

Must admit it’s getting pretty boring reading this thread now. Moan moan moan what’s up with people. Just chill out your car won’t come any quicker it will arrive when it arrives !! It’s a bit like the rest of the world nothing really works anymore as you want it to but there is nothing you can do about out. So relax enjoy life
Try sifting through it trying to spot a new member 👀🤣

I know this hasn't been a seamless process by Toyota but just to get things in perspective and to give them some credit on the pricing of the GR86. I have just priced a new Honda Jazz online today for my Mother-in-law and it was over £26k! According to the dealer for the colour she mentioned she would be looking at a delivery of Nov/Dec, possibly longer. The same car 2 years ago had an on the road price of £23450. A Honda Jazz. £26k!!

Toyota could easily have priced the GR86 at £32k+ in the UK and they would still have sold out. It is indeed an absolute bargain that we could all sell for a profit when we finally get them, whenever that may be! So credit where it's due 👏

Agreed - and don't forget the added complication that it's Subaru who's actually building it. I've never bought a new car before but in this current climate I think they've handled things post 20 April fairly well.

Going to give this thread a break for a while I think. Some very strange behaviour being demonstrated.

10.35 order & OCRA emails on the 20-Apr-2022. Had the general we are busy email and then hey presto today had email 1355 that car added to MyT, checked and says processing, then 2nd ID email today at 13.58 which replied to. So the future is bright (blue). So chins up all, it is happening for all of us, well most.

Did the ID email not just say 'If you havent already done so...' uplaod your ID?

Keep seeing this. I uploaded mine and the email suggested you dont need to if youve already done it

That's exciting!! 😀

Had a phone call from my Local dealer today , following up from an email I had sent him. I now have an ETA on his system of 12th September, 2 weeks ago there was no date. 🤞

(Have not had my call from TUK and order confirmation was 20/4 10:22)
Oh that's good to know! I ordered mine on 20/04 at 10:21, so hopefully, I'm looking at a similar date, haven't had a call yet either.

Hi ya, email said to send as an attachment by return email that had a title with ORCA number in. The previous email for initial ID and bank details etc was on the 20-Apr-2022. Hope that helps.

Your reference no: ORCAxxxxxx | Second Form of ID

We hope you're as excited as we are about your new Toyota !

In the meantime, there is some information we require to help us on this journey.

Please could you, by reply, send a photo or a scan of either: a bank statement, utility bill or council tax bill, dated within the last three months as a secondary form of identification.

Thank you very much.

Haha thanks, I'm in the Nottinghamshire area (east midlands), although I requested last week to change my dealership to one in Cornwall, since I'll hopefully be moving in the coming months.
Thanks for sharing , you can add that by editing your profile , happy days in Cornwall I’m sure there are a few owners down that way , Lands End GR86 meet-up anyone 🤔😎

I had the second form of ID request email and ignored it. But decided yesterday I better do as they request, incase they give my car to someone else :ROFLMAO:

This is an excellent point and has inspired me to mooch about on the internet looking at other cars. I've started a thread.

Got the welcome call yesterday evening.
ETA unknown but probably early 2023!
My orca was emailed at 10:12 on order day.
Electric blue auto.

I sent them second form of id and v750 number plate entitlement document yesterday. I asked them to issue the plate without country badge. I like a clean look.
He added my GT86 for part exchange which I could not do when I was ordering the Gr86. Final appraisal to be done by local dealer nearer the delivery time.

I should be sent an email by them about more exact ETA in the next couple of months.

I asked if order price will stay the same considering 10% inflation, he said yes don’t worry final price will not change. This is great. I’m not in a rush my little one is traumatised that we re selling our 10 yr old GT86 anyway!
Good luck guys with yours

I wonder if it’s ETA is early 2023 because it’s an auto transmission?

Nope, I ordered a manual and also in the same position with an ETA of 2023 from the phone call on Friday. The order was confirmed at the same time too, strangely, the ORCA email received at 10.12.

I guess the cars were planned for the whole two years, so they will stick to that as a build plan
If that’s the case we won‘t know the actual number of cars coming to the U.K. until we can see how many are registered on “How many left” or the Government site, as Toyota seem intent on keeping that number secret 🤷‍♂️
