Hello! I had some nice folks on another forum tell me about this community and wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I recently bought the subject GR86 with an automatic. There were no manuals around and turns out I need to trade cars a lot with my wife for now, so it’s sort of a blessing...

Nobody have close up or can confirm if there is paint fleck on the magnetite/pavement then? No US owners?

Just looking at those photos of Neptune Blue (looks like what will be electric blue here) and the colour looks like a "flat" colour to me not even metallic let alone pearlescent and yet it is described as pearlescent on the colour charts and nearly £1k extra, hhmm.
 
I tried a GT86 today on a 68 plate (auto) and it wasn't the car I thought it would be... I think I might hold off now to see if I can try a GR in the flesh before I buy one, I appreciate the new one would be different (refined, perhaps) but it didn't put the smile on my face I was hoping for. Glad I've tried a GT though, it was still a nice car! Thank you to whomever suggested trying the GT first.
 
Not sure if it’s just my mind playing tricks, but I just checked the Toyota website (because who knows, their timing may have been off again) and it already seems like the website is struggling!

Trust they have a better ordering system!
 
So I'm a new member but have been following this thread for a while. Like many others, I had a deposit down with my dealership, which is now being refunded so that I can try and scramble on through tomorrow with everyone else.
I'm a little stuck on the colour that I want though... Initially, I was looking at Sapphire Blue but Ice Silver is really calling to me now. The issue with the blue is that in some photos and lights, it just looks very dull but in sunlight, it looks amazing. On various polls, Sapphire Blue looks like fewer people want to order it so this could also be a good point that you won't see them everywhere (unlike my 2 previous cars in their signature colours).

Anyway, I hope it's not awful tomorrow and that everyone who wants to get one can.

Welcome mate. I’m currently stuck between red and silver, but I originally tried to order it in grey! Such a tough call without seeing anything in person.

I knew I wasn't going for red as I currently have an ND2 MX-5 in Soul Red and that's a much nicer colour than Ignition Red on the 86 (in my opinion). I think I'll keep it at Sapphire Blue if I can get hold of one and just learn to live with it if I don't like the choice when it comes haha.
 
To be honest I seem to be changing my mind daily at this point. I originally ordered it in white... but now that all bets are off. And we have to do it again... I'm thinking about Electric Blue. The other day I was determined again to pick white... but now I'm just not sure haha.

I’m the same, my current car (i30N) is red so want to change really. Also the fact they bill it as a “pearlescent” paint when it really isn’t irks me.

Half tempted to go black as it’s free then wrap it later down the line!
 
Playing around on the German configurator and their paint options are all billed differently to ours which is interesting. Red is a metallic, as is electric blue, black isn't free but Silver is. I wonder how paints can be pearlescent in one market but metallic in another?
 
Just had a call from the dealer I'd ordered with and they're refunding my deposit so I can order myself tomorrow, or at least try to 😬

Think I'll be going with black and considering wrapping in the future like someone above has said!
 
Won't a wrap cost more than a grand though? So choosing a colour from the off would be cheaper overall?
