GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

I have just spoken to my dealer and he told me my order is still alive and my order is kind of secured. I have paid the £250 deposit earlier this year and £750 yesterday. The salesman told me that he has ordered the vehicle in Pearl White for me and Toyota Uk has relied to him to confirm but still haven’t received any other updates yet. Hope this help.

I assume this doesn’t apply if you’ve already done the finance docs (provisionally) and supplied drivers licence etc? I’m hoping my dealer can submit on my behalf, won’t be available at 10am Wednesday.

My understanding is dealer finance and online finance is ring fenced, so internet orders can't see dealer proposals and vice versa. If you have already organised a proposal then I would get that proposal number and then phone Toyota up once you have confirmed the order online. If it was me, I would say the online order was a cash purchase, to bypass another credit check.

Was thinking about this - would I definitely still be able to access Toyota's PCP deal if I put the online order through as cash?

It took a few phone calls, but I managed to get the proposal switched on my GR Yaris order last year.

From my understanding, yes. You could switch/ apply the PCP even a week before you collect your vehicle - was told by my dealer

I do not require finance and have nothing to part exchange what benefit is there in using a dealer as opposed to ordering online myself?

There is a letter to Dealer Principals which sets out the arrangements. Toyota U.K. are saying they have not accepted any online orders but there maybe 3rd party web access where people think they have ordered a car but they haven’t. People should check their credit card bills very carefully

I'm in the same position, but you'd have to nominate a dealer to collect it from so wouldn't you want that dealer to have some form of 'skin in the game' if there's anything wrong with the car - e.g. scratches or whatever? Also I'm going to want to service it (if I manage to get one....), so the sooner I start to build a working relationship with the dealer the better, I think.

Hope this helps everyone

If a customer has already paid a deposit to your Centre, please ensure you support them with placing their order on Toyota.co.uk as soon as orders open, to avoid any customer disappointment.

An omnichannel sale means a customer could choose to commence, progress and conclude their purchase online at home, in the showroom, or a combination of both.

As such, it is critical that you and your teams understand how you can facilitate a seamless customer experience in all of these scenarios. Appendix 1 provides details of the process, but in summary the key points are: - The All New GR86 can be ordered and purchased at home or in a showroom via Toyota.co.uk. - A £1000 reservation fee will be required for a customer to secure their order.

This will be returned to the customer prior to the collection of their All New GR86. - Customers may wish to discuss the All New GR86 in a showroom and/or test drive (TGR Centres Only) and should be supported by Centre teams. - Please consider how you can best support your loyal customers in securing an All New GR86 via Toyota.co.uk. - Centre teams should sell the All New GR86 using the website ordering process (do not order via COL2 or take a deposit direct). - Centre teams can guide a customer through the Toyota.co.uk process and support their purchase, including their selection of Centre

They are lying then since I have the order confirmation from [email protected] address and Toyota Gb Plc in transaction details of payment.

I just called my dealer and he explained Toyota have told them it’s online orders only. He said I could go to the dealership on the 20th and they can help place the order but it would be no different than me placing it at home. I asked for my deposit back and I’ll have a go myself at ordering on the 20th.

This looks good, but what about the people that have only paid £250? My dealer has said there’s nothing more for me to do.

Thanks for this - looks like I'd best send my local dealership another £500. I've asked the sales guy to confirm.

In the voting thing on this thread: 80% are opting for a manual gearbox, 7% opting to take the auto.... and 13% are going extreme weight saving?

No point. You place the £1000 deposit online when ordering. Your best asking for your original deposit back with the dealership.

More confusion.... my dealer is refunding me because its online only. Now this info is out there. I'm gonna go it alone and order myself on Wednesday.

Same situation here. They said there no point them getting involved as I can do the same at home.

Exactly what I’m doing.
