GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

I’ve updated the poll colours with the paint codes from the Polish brochure which helpfully has them alongside the names, I’m assuming they are the same in the U.K.

Looking at Magnetite Grey (Pavement Grey in the US) , code P8Y , this appears to be different to the grey on the GT86, code 61K, and from photos of US cars does appear to be a lighter shade of grey.

Does anyone have more to add which will help folk make a decision without having the opportunity to see this colour on the car before making a choice🤔

I think there will be a lot of lessons learned at Toyota. This is really basic stuff.

I also signed up for more information on the GR86 page to two emails (work and personal) and haven't received anything at all.

Hopefully we all get on the first allocation anyway, from what I have read before there are 400 cars coming to the UK this year.

Thanks for this. I've ordered (pre-ordered?) the grey on the basis of the American cars so your post about colour codes is giving me a degree of comfort that it will turn out lighter than the GT86 dark grey. It was that or the Sapphire Blue but my kids talked me into the grey.

I remind myself that these are nice problems to have considering all that is going on in the world.

I was leaning to Magnetite grey but the CEO was very consistent in her choice and “persuaded /told me“ to order Electric Blue 😂

Its definitely worth taking a few minutes to reflect on what’s going on in our lives and compare it with what’s going on a few hundred miles away 🇺🇦 we are the lucky ones 🤔

Not sure that Red will be the UK red. The recent bulletin* said that Ignition Red was a new colour, the same as Sapphire Blue pearl.

*But then a previous Toyota UK release said the duckbill spoiler would be available so who knows anymore. :rolleyes:

I did this also and was wondering the same - no formal comms to my email subscriptions, and this was the formal channel!

Btw, I visited my dealer yesterday afternoon and placed my deposit/order with them locally (finance approved). They said the actual formal order channel wasn't open yet, but would be opened at some point in the week (w/c 11/4...), and they'd be adding the orders then.

On chatting with the finance guy, he assured me that order queueing across dealerships would he respected i.e. if dealer 1 had 15 customers, was only allocated 6 cars, but got all 15 orders into the system first, they would not get more than the 6 cars initially. Dealer 2 who was slow to get their orders into the system would still get their allocation. On top of that you need to trust your dealer will put them in priority - I'm customer 3 in my dealer I believe.

No info on how this ordering priority syncs with web/national orders.

Red is new but should be paint code DCK , Fensport advertising it for the much lusted after Duckbill 😍

That’s a great find 👍😎 I’m becoming convinced Magnetite Grey is a lighter shade than the similar one on the GT86 🤔 Time will tell
 
While we are waiting, patiently, for new members there is plenty of “stuff” in the other sections. Any views on wheels tyres brakes that are good on a GT86 welcome in the relevant sections 👍

Is that paint code a piss take as we don't get the DuCK spoiler OEM here?! :ROFLMAO:
 
From that video I would definitely go red or silver. The silver is really interesting as you don't see many silver cars these days and I think it looks really nice.
 
Interestingly, the German configurator has just been updated and now also shows the 'Pure' spec car (with smaller, silver wheels):

We can if we wait until demo cars arrive, but as I understand it if you decide to change colour the dealer will cancel your existing order and make you a new one , obviously at the back of the queue
 
Got my callback and Toyota confirmed they can see all the internet orders that went through a page on the site that shouldn't have been live over the weekend.

They are currently waiting for Management to confirm how they deal with these. I.e, can they process them as is or do they need to cancel them down and get people to place again once Marketing has gone out to everyone on the mailing lists giving everyone a fair shot.

Either way, the internal ordering system is still not live so no orders at all confirmed so far. They hope that will still be live this week.

Fair enough, I'd be pretty miffed if that meant a second credit check on my report though!
