GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Not to be that guy but my holding deposit has been in since November, if I (or others in similar positions) aren’t allocated in the first round of orders I think that’d be pretty poor.

I understand that, I'd not be pleased either, but the holding deposit has never been an official Toyota thing has it so they'll say it's nothing to do with them? What a mess.

Surely a test site should have internal access only and not be on a very similar URL to every other car on the configurator?

The special editions in quite bright colours all seemed to sell. If the Electric blue is exactly the same as the GT86 Blue Edition , which it should be , it looks great, even though it is definitely ”shouty”

While I understand your point, I assume you also knew that the launch date for order books was this week.

So you must have known the deposit you put down had an element of risk.
 
Nope, I don't expect to hear anything for the rest of today.
 
Spoke to mine and their orders have been entered onto the system and are “awaiting processing“ whatever that means but they appear to have done their bit 👍

PS. They also took a third order from someone waiting outside this morning for the doors opening 😎

Just spoken to mine, still not live on the system to place an order. Checked as of 2pm today
 
I ordered online, my nominated dealer said they don't get any details until the car is ready to collect so I need to go through Toyota GB. Their Sales team are currently in a meeting so customer services took my details and said they will call me back ... Let's see.
 
Having caught up on all the posts since yesterday my will power not to contact my dealer has just evaporated.

The dealer informed me that they have placed my order but it is unallocated as they are still waiting to confirm the order (indeed they have 10 already including someone waiting at the door this morning). He was seemingly unaware of the problem with the online ordering system inadvertently going live yesterday. Not unnaturally he was trying to be very reassuring that I would get a car.

When I asked about supply levels his best guess was that Toyota would look to sell 800 in the first year - June to June with a possible initial allocation of 500. Not sure how many Toyota dealers there are in the UK but if we assume 150 and they each have 10 orders then some of us are going to be disappointed. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
 
My dealer has tried 6 times today and still not possible to place an order.......

This is frustrating and confusing.
 
Went to my local dealer on Saturday and put down the £500 deposit for a Silver Manual car. Their understanding was that they would be able to order the car this week (didn't know the specific day). I haven't heard anything yet but will probably give them a call tomorrow.

I have completed the poll too!

That’s consistent with what I’ve been told, I think the dealers with pre orders/orders have done as much as they can at the moment.

I am the only one at my dealer! Not all Toyota dealers are GR centres and I imagine they get most of the orders.

My friend called his local dealer in the Midlands, 0 orders.
 
Reminds me a bit of the mystery and dark arts of ordering a Porsche which become even more cloudy if it’s a GT car. Mind you they sit on thousands of pounds of deposits for months and no guarantee you get a car at the end of it. Once the car gets locked down for production they up the deposit !!
