GR86 The GR86 “The Orders / Owners List / GR86 Register”

Oh gosh, it looks more likely I am getting the car next year..

Should I keep and refinance my GT86 until getting my GR86?🤔 or just get a cheap runner until next year ? Very difficult situation for me….I am now regret that I should order the car myself rather than trust the dealer🫣
I'm refinancing mine and hoping the value doesn't tank between now and whatever date in the future I eventually get the GR86... Tough call though! I just don't think I could hack giving up my beloved GT86 for a shitty car for X number of months, I'd rather take the risk and enjoy her until I get the GR86 😊

Anyone else regretting wasting 20 mins completing the PCP at point of sale. Could have been much higher up the pecking order and done later.

The late deliveries suck. But at least we can take comfort that any QC issues found in the US like the infotainment system and indicators will probably be rectified by the time we get ours.
Yep, couldn't figure out where to input my part-ex value first and eventually just didn't include it, PCP application was slow and wouldn't load things like addresses when I input a postcode so had to wait for it to eventually not find the address so I could enter it manually instead, and then to top it off my bank flagged the deposit as fraudulent so while waiting for that to lift the Toyota website timed out and I had to call Toyota to ask what to do so I didn't lose the order 😂 was SO stressful!

Better be worth it for the 73 plate haha

Bit of an update but not as informative as @Polymorphic post #2769

I emailed Toyota using the link from my order confirmation email for an update, and asked the question could I change colour ?

The answer was , sorry for the delay, unprecedented demand , very busy etc, ” the good news is as we have not contacted you you can change colour , please advise what colour you would like“

So if you are undecided on colour and have not had “the call“ you MAY be able to change.
It 🤔

PS mine is still showing as my original choice on My Toyota under Purchased

I nearly didn't do PCP and if I hadn't would've definitely been quicker (although 10:07 is quick) but thought better do it now, otherwise come collection and the PCP got rejected or is now at a higher rate I'd be stuffed. Had to put in the two addresses I've lived in the last 3 years and thankfully it went through fine. Even the £1000 deposit went through without needed app authorisation which with Lloyds often does if it's a new person and a big sum. September if it is suits me fine for several reason. I'm bike riding all Summer since I don't trust current car and several things end come Sept so should be fine. They even said if I decide to part ex nearer the time I can so still need to decide on that

With the possibility Of long waiting times for some it may be worth asking if the PCP rates will be honoured when you get a call ? I believe they were for GRY orders.

This may be a silly question: What does ORCA actually stand for?

Search engine research did not provide me with an answer.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, I think it's safe to say none of us would have considered that as we didn't expect it to sell out so quickly, or that the minutes between orders would count as much as they do!

I opted for PCP, these deals work nicely for me, I didn't have too but I've decided to keep my GT86 and give it to the fiancé, so its needed.

Her words were; "Can you keep the exhaust on it?"

Absolutely my dear, what a woman :ROFLMAO:

Just a bit of an update. The other day I sent an email to the online orders team, because despite having had a phone call, I hadn't seen any progress on app/online portal. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't any outstanding info I needed to supply or anything (2nd ID, etc).

Had a response this morning assuring me there's nothing else I need to do, and that there are some technical issues with the MyT app which means the orders aren't showing there yet, but that my order is progressing as normal. Useful for anyone else not yet seeing progress updates despite having been called already.

I would suggest the key event for NOT being able make changes is when My T shows order processing (or later)and not whether you have had the call.

So, just an update on my order status to hopefully ease up some of your concerns about the ordering process (just saw @Conscript's reply that suggests a similar progress.

First, a reminder of my ordering timeline:
  • Car order email confirmation received at 10:04 20/04/2022 for an Electric Blue Manual
  • Received my ORCA reference email at 10:05 on the same day asking for my driving license details that I uploaded right away
  • Phone call received on 26/04 advising late August/early September estimated delivery
  • Order status on Toyota website showing as "We have received your details. The Toyota team will contact you soon via email to advise the next steps." since around the time of the phone call
  • Car not visible on MyToyota app
  • Never asked for a second ID verification by email or otherwise
Due to not hearing back from Toyota since the phone call, not having any updates on the website, app or by email, and hearing contradicting reports on what's required to progress the orders, I reached out to my dealer and Toyota Online via email for an update on 03/05. I did not bother calling Toyota Online as their automated message advises specifically not to speak to them about GR86 orders as they are still working through them.

My patience has paid off though, as I received a phone call from my dealer yesterday advising the car is now showing on their system with an estimated delivery date of 15/08/2022! I also asked them not to wash the car/remove factory stickers and to see if I can have the plates stuck on rather than bolted on, but they were more reluctant about that part (cited safety concerns/liability).

Also this morning I have received an email from Toyota Online stating the following:

"We have received your drivers license and your bank details so many thanks for providing that. We do require a 2nd form of identifications, so please could you, by reply, send a photo or a scan of either: a bank statement, utility bill or council tax bill, dated within the last three months as a secondary form of identification.

There have been some slight technical issues with the Vehicle Order Tracking through your MyT app. If your GR86 order is not showing on here then this does not mean there is any issues with your order. Your order is progressing well and we will keep you updated via monthly emails in regards to your ETA. We hope to resolve the vehicle order tracking issues soon to allow you to track the order through your MyT account."

This confirms that two forms of ID are required for the order, as previous buyers have been asked for it before, even if you didn't go down the PCP route (I didn't). It also clarifies the issues surrounding the app, my dealer also confirmed there are issues with it and they would not affect the order delivery dates.

I hope the above helps anyone who's been anxious about the lack of order updates recently. :)

Yip, especially now that we've decided to ditch the PCP and finance it ourselves. Still to have that chat with Toyota UK when they call but we've decided to use some savings and finance the remaining. Although that also means to secure the current low rate of 2.8% that we need to set up the loan now and start paying for a car that I have no idea when I'll actually take delivery of.

I am also wondering if I should apply for my PCP now so that I could definitely get the deal of 4.9% apr if Toyota is going to honour the deal whenever I collect my car? Or should I wait until a week before I collect my car?

Don’t know if this will help - I have a 16-plate GT86 on finance, due to end November. The car (based on CAP average value) is now devaluing more than how much I pay a month, at the moment to the tune of £500 per month. I’ve got around £6600 equity in the thing (!!) so, as much as I absolutely bloody love it, I may have to get rid and run around in a £1k Top Gear Challenge banger for a year 😂

No mention of 2nd ID for me but they got emailed licence. Guess by doing PCP and knowing some of the info they needed counts as ID? Like I've lived in 2 houses in 3 years, gave where I work, etc and it wouldn't have been approved if something was wrong.

Just had my call, no more than 10mins.

Got My ETA of October, emphised the estimate part. For those wondering my order was placed at 10:11
Ran through of Terms and condiditons for fianance.
There is a final check of some sorts near the point of signing the agreement.
Discussed the issue i had being unable to add my partex vechicle to the agreement. I set my deposit as the value for the car due to the page being unresponsibe at checkout. He advised that the finance is flexible throughout, when the delivery is near i can go to a dealership for a re value and get things updated at that point.
Requested no dealership branding and no wash, note added for the dealership.
Monthly update from here via phone or email offered.

Great guy to talk to, felt like he was happy to stay on the phone as long as i needed but everything i might want to know is already on here.

The second form of ID is required for when you pick the car up, they requested it from me and I'm a cash buyer. Something with an address on, I sent a council tax bill. So yes, I guess if you have already supplied address info with the PCP, they perhaps don't need anything else.

5) GR Centers without 86 deliveries will not be getting a tester.
Had it confirmed from dealer that you can get a tester delivered to your designated delivery branch for a test drive (before they send it back) if you have a confirmed order.
