Maaate! I got my Evo back on the road last week to get it ready for sale.. I forgot how brutal it is on boost. Absolute animal! The GR feels a bit slow now so might have to sell that instead 😂

Basically just Torque Pro on Android with an OBDlink adapter. Dead easy and surprisingly reliable!

I've tried this sort of thing in past cars but always had one problem or another such as really slow gauge updates, but in the GR the gauges update many times per second and it works every time.. just start the car and fire up Torque. And disable lane control. And enable iMT. And set Track mode. And Select Android Auto on the main screen when it randomly decides not to auto-switch.... yeah, "just"... Shit man, firing up the Yaris is starting to feel like f'kin NASA launch!

ahh that's what I use too. but it almost looked like you had it on the screen. let me know how the mirroring goes!

Aaanyway, I use this Torque Pro dashboard when driving my GR:-

I've set some sensors to flash, e.g. when the engine Oil is below 70c (I've seen the OEM warning disappear between 52-55c but the gearbox was still 14c which sounds a bit cold) but these are all best guesses.

I'd like to set proper lower and upper limits on these. I know all oils are different and will likely have different operating temps but maybe there's a 'safe' range that would cover most/all.

Does anyone know what sensible values would be for these?
  • Engine oil (min/max?)
  • Gearbox oil (min/max?)
  • AWD Clutch (overheat only I'd imagine. Anyone know what temperature disconnects the back axle?)
  • Tyres - pressure & temp (min/max?)
  • Intake (no min required)
  • Intercooler (required at all?)

If I'm missing something important or useful here then please let me know. Any info is much appreciated!

I run similar pids via torque pro, it's great to be able to access the info.
Have you had any joy getting temps for all 4 tyres? Like you, I also have two tyres with good readings and the other two stuck on -41deg! Very strange

Yeah all 4 tyre temperatures work for me. And that's with Aliexpress sensors.

The GR TPMS system is very strange though.. For about 3 months my dashboard said tyre pressures were broke but Torque showed everything just fine! It was only when winter came around and the pressures dropped that the dash alerted and seemed able to see the pressures from then on 🤷‍♂️

The tyre temperature comes from the TPMS so this will differ from the actual tyre surface, but I hope it gives a good idea when they're up to temp. But what is that temperature?

depends what you're after with min and max tyre temps but for instance michelin pilot sport cup2 recommended window is 70-100'C.
