Yet the Rear Differential Oil shows up in the 'Additional Replacements' section of the GR86 Owners Service manual as "every 20,000 miles/4 years". I'll see what happens in February, but at only 3K miles it'll be likely cleaner in my 86 than the oil in our local chippy ;)

Well it's booked in £545 English f***ing pounds! I've had to sign over my first born too . . .

They do CHANGE oil, filter, pollen, clutch and brake fluid, rear diff oil. I declined the 'wash'. They tried the upsell of engine flush and fuel additive, but didn't push when I mentioned the manual saying not to add anything to the fuel. I also declined the addition of changing the fob battery for £15 . . .

Saturday 8th Feb, so we'll see how they do (I've an oil filter 'in stock').

Mine's in next week, too. Abbey Toyota haven't tried on any upsells and don't wash GR's as standard, which I thought was interesting. I too will be bringing my own filter "just in case"

I am just about to call and book mine in at Hamilton. Spare oil filter in garage, a new of set wiper blades too. Coming up on 20k miles fast - loved every one of them 😁 I will be declining the brake fluid change though, I popped some upgraded stuff in when the more punchy front pads were installed.

Don’t think my diff fluid was changed either. 99% sure my clutch fluid was though as it felt totally different when I collected the car.

Haha, no I didn’t. Went for a walk into town and left them to it. I swear the clutch felt different afterwards though, not better or worst just different!
Ahh..just checking because I used to have this with my GT86. Every time it was at the dealer and I took a courtesy car, I would swear blind that they had done something with the clutch...when in reality, it was just a consequence of me driving around in a little manual Aygo or something for the day.

I went in last weekend and Steven Eagell carried out the service exceptionally quick (got a call about 90 minutes later).
What could "TWWF CONC -50 0" stand for on the invoice? I can recognise
"ELEMENT, AIR RE" - cabin filter (?),
"GSKT-DRAIN PLUG" - self explanatory,
"GASKET, 16X21X2" - gasket for the above (?),
"ELEM CP-OIL FLT" - self explanatory,
"TGMO 0W20 BULK" - oil,
"GEAR OIL, LX 75" - gearbox oil
there's also first item on the list, which is probably the service itself.

When collecting the car I was asked to put a 10 point rating and found another note about it clipped to the invoice, so I will definitely not be doing that. Not because I wasn't happy with the service, but the booking experience again was the worst. Last year they didn't have oil filter in stock and had to reschedule when I got there (even though I asked during booking, having been made aware by forum members).

This year I phoned twice, first time I kept being put to their call centre instead of the branch. The call centre guy did a stock check to find they had no filters for my car, but couldn't do anything apart from redirecting my call again in hope someone will pick up.
I gave up and called again the day before. They had one filter already reserved for someone else's car and one coming in with delivery. They made it sound as it may turn up or might not. I was told that if the delivery one isn't ready they will grab the reserved one
In the end all was ok, but driving there I was convinced I'm either not getting an oil filter or they'll reschedule again.
Either way it's not a £545 experience, but I won't go as far as giving a "bad, 9 star review" :ROFLMAO: as I had no issue with people carrying out the service and the ones I met on the day.

What could "TWWF CONC -50 0" stand for on the invoice? I
"Toyota Windscreen Washer Fluid", maybe? Going by "-50".

I've just dug out the invoice for my second year service and have different results...

TWWF CONC -50 0 (Washer Fluid)
ELEMENT, AIR RE (Cabin air filter)
GASKET, 16X21X2 (Gasket for something oil related I would assume)
ELEM C-OIL FLT (Oil Filter)
Brake Fluid (Self Explanatory)
TGMO 0W20 AFE B (Engine oil).

So no mention of Diff or Gearbox oil. Then again the check list also has a tick next to "Check alarm operation"... It also has a check next to "Replace Clutch Fluid" however that doesn't appear on the invoice. It has a blue box next to "Replace front and rear differential oil" but they have scribbled instead of ticked which I imagine means it wasn't needed?

Edit: added a photo of the job sheet.

@Delahorney, for shi*s and giggles, maybe you could get them to demonstrate how they tested the alarm. I also noticed that your keyfob battery was down as being replaced - there's £15 saved if it isn't on the invoice fer sho! Full 4-wheel Alignment check too by-jingo eh!? ... (cough "B*lls**t) :sneaky:

Car all booked in for mid April, for its second service, ties in with the return from Japfest. Notes left with Macklin Toyota in Hamilton, so let's see how this one goes. If as good as the first, I will be happy.

Second service - explicity a 20k mileage, not 2 yrs. They did the rear diff. They tested and topped the brake fluid.

Aside from labour and sundry

ENGINE OIL 0W20AFE
ELEM CP-OIL FLT
GASKET, 16x21x2
ELEMENT, AIR RE
SCREEN WASH
GEAR OIL, LX 75 (https://toyotadirectparts.co.uk/parts/toyota-universal-parts/toyota-lx-75w-85-gl-5/ this stuff, 2off).
GSKT-DRAIN PLUG
GSKT.DRAIN PLUG
DA02D02F BATTERY, TRA

The gear oil is listed as a £101.34 part on its own, which matches to the Toyota Parts Direct costings.

I’m half tempted to take mine back and have them do it, seeing as they missed it the first time around.
