GR Yaris Seating postition really that high?

need to mention again that the height, even if you are close to the roof is ok, seat is comfortable. but the view towards passengers side of the road is blocked through the rear mirror. thats the main issue with the seat height I think. its not that you sit too high, you see less in right / left corners. to get a feeling for the view, look for some rear mirror riser vids at youtube, there you can see comparison of the view around the mirror.

I have the same problem in my Peugeot 2008...but there is no mirror riser available.

so there's 2 options that you can choose...lower seat or rise mirror or both. and if both is not enough...like for me...you end up with 2 of these:

Just bought the seat lowering kit from SW Motorsport!

https://www.swmotorsports.uk/product/toyota-yaris-gr-oem-seat-slider-lowering-base/

I will report back when i have fitted it on my thoughts... i am 184cm tall, but long in the back and short in the leg! ( And thick in the head according to my lovely wife!!)

Will let you know.... no holding of breath i am not the quickest at getting things done :ROFLMAO:
My god these are getting expensive haha, please report back if it was worth it :D

Yes but cheaper than some, will let you know!!

It is the only thing that bugs me about the car, i get out of my wifes Cupra where i can sit almost on the floor and the get in my GR and its like an SUV!

Oooh this kind of spacer, that looks pretty nice actually. Do you have any issues with this?
No issues, quite a few have them. Need to get used to the stalks being further away, especially when having other cars (that have them close) but now half a year later I don't even notice anymore

You can also have it cheaper, like I did... Completely remove the useless interior mirror.

That actually doesn't come from Toyota, but from national (misguided?) marketing teams. In JP and other markets that pack is called things like 'High Performance', 'Performance Pack' and even 'Extreme Rally' which is at the other end of the scale...
Yes most brands would call it a performance pack (as Toyota JP does).

I d love to...but not allowed in Germany :(

I live in Germany myself. Maybe you should be able to decide little things for yourself,I know they're trying to rip us off, but hey it works :) .

It makes me safer on the road because I can see a lot more with(out) it. Should it ever happen that someone complains, I'll pay the 15€ fine.

When I was at the TÜV office myself to have the intake registered, the inspector drove it for a test lap... even he didn't even notice it.

Im not afraid about the 15€ fine....Im afraid of an accident with "personal injury" and the opposing insurance.

but dont let us discuss these descitions.

I just picked up my Schläppi console and try to mount my seats this weekend

the Schläppi is not plug and plag, you need to cut some material...we will see..thx...
Ill report ;)

Fitted the SW seat lowering kit this weekend, i was going to take pictures etc, but the rain came and i was more keen on not getting things wet!!

Not to difficult to fit, trickiest bit was getting a T50 torx bit!! Every motor spare place i tried did not have one in stock, borrowed one in the end from a friend at a local garage! Cheers Shawn!!

Instructions were reasonably clear... only slight error, don't put a washer on either end when attaching the sliders, they won't slide if you do... (in fairness the instructions don't say to, but they provide 8 washers for 4 nuts and bolts!)

I am happy with the results, if i am honest i would still like it a bit a lower, but as i said i am long in the back, but feel much more in it now than on it!!

So in conclusion, yes i would do it again but possibly might consider a fixed position to get the seat even lower!!

Hope this helps....

Are you sure about that? I did some research and could not find anything in the StVZO that said you really need a rear view mirror when you have two side mirrors. There are also delivery vans with no windows in the back doors and they are road legal too.

If it’s anything like the UK (and it may well not be) then if a vehicle is fitted with one as new/for type approval then one must be fitted on the road. That’s why vans with no rear view are considered differently.
