Forum Event Scottish Festival of Motoring 20/7/25

Nearly time people. It'll soon be upon us! :)

Tickets for this event are being posted out to me on 9th July. I'll update everyone via the WhatsApp group when I have them in my hand. Distribution will take place on the day of the event, at the designated meeting-up place, as discussed in the WhatApp group (unless individually arranged otherwise).

Although I never managed to procure any 'GR-Zoo Scotland Exhibitor' car stickers in time for this season, there will still be some 'merch' gifted to each driver, including the obligatory bottle of IRN-Bru beveridge and Tunnocks Caramel Wafers (not shown). I cannot, however, guarantee that the 'Iron Brew' (sic) Jelly Babies that I got from Aldi (pictured below) will make it to the show alive, as they are more addictive than Crack Cocaine ... 😬

I'm going to look for some interesting comestibles on my forthcoming trip to Norway, to bring along.

(Ladies Amateur World Championship Highland Games competition don't you know - daughter is close to no.1)

Thank goodness Surströmming is Swedish. One way to empty a car show in 5 mins....

For those travelling up from Englandshire on the Saturday and staying in local hotels, I'll be making available my detailing equipment for you to skoosh off those bugs and get the car looking clean for the show.

To that end, Sonic's 'Sloppy Seconds' Car Wash will be open for business from 12:00 on Saturday 19th July to get your car looking its best!

Showtime is nearly here, and for anybody who's not a regular at these type of events and might be wondering what to take, here are a couple of suggestions for stuff to pop in the boot:

A folding/camping chair.
An umbrella and/or a light rain coat.
Some sandwiches, rolls, water, juice etc (food prices at Ingliston showground are horrendous btw!)
Maybe a few items of detailing kit to fettle your car during the day (QD, cloths, tyre brush... aso).

I have the Zone Passes and Wristbands, so there's no chance of anybody doing something random like leaving them at home on the kitchen table... I'll dish everything out on Sunday morning at the meeting point. Wristbands should be worn before we mount-up and your Zone Pass must be displayed in the windscreen as we enter the showground's 3-lane access system, so don't put it in the boot! We are in the Green Zone, which is the Middle lane of the vehicle filter system.

Hopefully see you @chopper602 and @Geoff on Saturday, and look forward to getting together with the rest of you on Sunday! 🫡

PS: If anyone would like me to bring my 'Techstream' laptop along to make a tweak or two, drop a reply here or in our WhatsApp chat and I'll get it charged up.
