Yeah, both my GR86 and 'box-of-shame' have many of their items as you can see within my members' cars thread. The bonnet struts have been a super addition. BTW, nice to have another 86 this side of the river :cool:

Funnily enough I ended up ordering this exact one because I'm impatient. I'll see if I can record noise levels before and after for a comparison.
 
Is it really that simple? Just adding something to add a bit of damping mass to the struts? I thought the issue was that they were transmitting noise from the struts, rather than resonating.

I don't think it should be looked at as total solution but a cheap and easy way of perhaps improving the problem.
 
Might pick some up then. Not even sure I'm getting the same noise, but for the price, worth doing.

How many 1 metre lengths are needed, just the two?
Or is 1 metre enough for both struts?

I’m thinking about ordering the GR Performance dampers from Black Hawk, has anyone ordered from them before? Am I likely to get hit with VAT and import duty? They are coming it at £500 shipped so probably £650 with fees. Anything else worth ordering from them at the same time?

Yeah most likely. Whenever ive ordered from Japan I have to pay tax and duty. I think I got away with it once. I was thinking of doing the same thing but one chap in the US so they do nothing for the noise.

Just looked up an adjustable torque wrench, surely this isn’t going to cost me £200 to install £14 of hose. 😧

Bugger, really!? I was hoping that would be the guaranteed fix! I did actually remove the diagonal braces and the noise does go but I didn’t like the way the front end felt, was too floaty and vague imo.

I’m using my car to commute daily on an 80 mile round trip A and B road blast. I’ve removed my Remark exhaust and also added sound deadening but the front end noise is really annoying me and in fact, seems more prominent now I’m made tha car quieter!
 
Yeah it looks that way :( there is another guy who bought them so I'm waiting on his opinion to confirm whether that's the case or not.
 
Wonder if the AliExpress shop has seen a sudden influx of UK-bound orders similar to the Puzu amp seller a while back..! Also purchased.
 
I ordered a strut brace from Black Hawk I'm still waiting for. I know it's in the country based on the Shop app but no other info about it other than it's being held.

Got desperate, added a couple of layers of sound deadening l, will report back tomorrow if it’s made a difference to the noise or just melted and made a mess!?

The silicone looks good, or you can get the first thing that pops up on Ebay. After some help from the neighbour I just managed to get these on, and the struts are now rated to 20 bar.
