have to mention the turbo oil return pipe being silicone with a simple hose clap is a potential fail point, ideally should be solid steel pipe with gasket or threaded union

There is no oil pressure to talk about after the turbo to speak of so I don't see how it could fail?

I run the return like that on 2 diffrent turbocharged enginge (trackcars both so taking some abuse) without any problems...

am aware no pressure its the way a Jubilee clip (not as bad as Miklor) pinches the silicon unevenly hot oil tends to find its way passed, ok for water and air but modern super slippery oils......personally wouldn't chance it

You‘ve got a good point. 👍
But the solid pipes tend to break because the turbo is only supported by the header and the bracket of the downpipe.
I know of three solid OEM pipes that did break and nearly caused fires because of it.

Because of that, i‘m perfectly happy with that solution, which we, run on all our track cars in the past years and never had any issues so far.

Exactly this. Failures especially seem to come when someone fits an aftermarket downpipe that isn’t gusseted and the exhaust and engine movement cracks the return pipe.

Also Phil sorry I’m not ignoring you, I’ll reply to your message just now. Very busy at the minute ☺️

That machining is exquisite!

Can’t wait to see it running, what a beast you’ve created!
