Wow, powerslides on dry tarmac?! With the MK1
@Phil1291 reached a stage where he reported being able to enjoy powerslides, but that came after a power increase of a lot more than 20ish bhp, if I remember correctly, plus many more upgrades in parallel. And even then, I don't think he reported huge, prolonged powerslides; quite the opposite. But then again I cannot do powerslides on dry tarmac with the MK1 fullstop; not with weight transfer, not with any other driving technique. So, maybe it's a matter of skill (or lack of, in my case). Still surprised to read about powerslides implied on dry tarmac in the set-up-for-grip 4WD 2xx bhp GRY.
Good to know you're enthusiastic about the chassis upgrades. Could you please elaborate on
what you think
are the most significant changes, with any details you may have, if any are available to you at this early stage?
I mean, what changes exactly in the front geometry make you feel these are a game changer for some? In terms of result, are you referring mainly to the ability of the new car to better maintain the alignment settings with the suspension compressed (an issue
pointed out by
@Phil1291 )?
Also, if you happen to have any details about changes to the rear suspension, please share together with any views you may have on these. I ask as
@Phil1291 hinted towards potential major changes there (at 9:02 of his
video). Even if there aren't any major changes, it would be useful to know even about minor parts being upgraded, as, for example, expert users have reported about the rear trailing arm bush in the MK1 coming straight from the humble Yaris and that having it upgraded may tackle the GRY's tendency to snap oversteer at times (alongside with improvements to steering, etc), while finding a decent upgrade that will stand the test of time (and salty roads) hasn't been easy.
I appreciate it may simply be too early and difficult to have such details and I'm still grateful for all the valuable and reliable updates you have been providing proactively and consistently.
