GR86 My Red GR86 - East Midlands

Forgot to put this on after Christmas..

The OH got me this awesome custom artwork from PopBangColour for Christmas;

And as I spied her chatting to the artist at a car meet before Christmas, I thought I'd surprise her and get one done of her car and the dogs;

Then last week we got these 3 mugs in the post with both cars printed on them!

:D
Now this is fantastic!

Not much of a photo update yet but managed to get the doors both locking and unlocking together using the handle "comfort unlocking" or whatever its called and the windows to open and close from the key.

It's the little things that will make ownership that much more convenient rather than the other half going "are you going to let me in or what" when I just open the car without the key from the drivers side. :ROFLMAO:

Might fit the Aero cover thing later.

At the dealer, I take it?

Is it possible to learn such a power?
(I mean, my car is currently at the dealer being repaired, and the reason it was there in the first place was partly because I was asking them to enable those functions, but knowing my luck so far, they won't be able to work it out :D)

It's not too hard to be honest. The software takes a step by step methodical installation to get it to work and you just need a calm head when using Techstream as it's a bit crap!

I got the cable and software from this seller on ebay - very helpful with setting it all up and would recommend:

Aero thingmebob fitted.

I take it she does realise that if she touches the door handle it will unlock for her if you have the key in your pocket and are close enough to the car?

Nope. Didn't. It remained locked until I unlocked it.

You have to be fairly close to the car but it is possible for the passenger to unlock their door before you if they touch the handle before you.

One at a time maybe, but if I opened drivers first, the passenger didn't.

Hence reprogramming with Techstream.

I was wrong in what I quoted I take it back. However, if you give your other half the fob they can unlock their door themselves and it will unlock the drivers door at the same time.

Fitted some soundproofing to the back of the car today. Some 2mm deadening mat and some mineral wool too.

Mostly concentrated on the big cavity* in the rear 3/4 as well as under the rear seats and boot.

Will find out if it's made any difference on the way to work in the morning!

Was dead easy to take the panels off - basically pull all the clips then yank*.
(Stop laughing at the back!)

Only took a few snaps, sorry.

So is all the black stuff you? Was there nothing there at all?

Curious how this works out, I can tolerate it stock but do notice the noise on long trips.

Keen to hear how you get on with this. I've heard the boot floor is also a good one (did this with the gt86).
My continental pc6 tyres are noisier than the stock ps4 so really noticed the road noise with these on and I'll be looking to tackle it!

Well after driving to work it's definitely quieter in the back. There's less boom type resonance compared to before. It's noticeable even at low speeds but more obvious at motorway speeds.

The only downside is I can hear that I haven't done the doors yet!
