piping.

I think tuning can play a large part in reducing lag and increasing throttle response
Agreed. I don’t have experience with turbo cars but with old school stuff if you simply hog out the intake and exhaust ports on the head you can achieve really good flow rates but you loose the velocity and the fuel falls out of suspension. The end result is a motor than has a slow flame speed and lower combustion pressure and power. A well flowed head increases the flow rate but maintains or increases velocity. How that translates to a fuel injected turbo vehicle is a little beyond my experience but the throttle body ultimately is the restricting part.

For me it’s all about response from lower rpm 3000 plus or as low as possible really. It pulls nicely up top as it is with the standard Intercooler and Litchfield remap. It’s booked for the new ecutek software in June but I want to get a Intercooler on before so it can be mapped with it. I just really don’t want to find I mess up the responsiveness by going the wrong way with the Intercooler. I think I am set on the DO88 now over Litchfield version. It’s just these pipes that are loosing me sleep now
Just keep stock ones...

Has anyone else had this issue fitting the Pro Alloy version? Basically the mounting bracket on the boost pipe coming from the turbo is in completely the wrong place OR there should be a thread at the bottom of the engine/bottom of the sump to screw into? I've seen some photos where there is a thread (there is on the other side of the sump), but there isn't on mine. Perhaps a manufacturing fault with the sump?

Did you get this sorted? Any feedback on the pipes and effect on the car?

Got the car back yesterday, after the alignment issues of last week, the fix for the intercooler (see above), I think was the best we could make of the situation. I’ve had one brief drive in the car, there is a difference in the throttle response, I’m not sure if I can judge this early. Maybe it’s a fraction lazy/laggy, but when TT is over and the roads are clearer, I’ll give it a better run.

Thanks for the reply, was that with the pro alloy cooler too? I think a remap will probably sort that out.

It was yes, their complete kit. The intercooler itself fit quite well, it was just the issue with mounting the pipes. Hopefully going to do a remote Ecutek tune with Whifbitz in a few weeks.
