GR Yaris If u know how hot ur Gr Yaris transfer case can get, u will never drive ur Gr Yaris in same way

Exactly, Toyota tested the GR Yaris on several track both in Japan and Europe prior to its release. And they tested at least with stock ps4s tires and cup 2, so I’d say for an occasional track day, the car is fine.

Another thing is this is a dedicated track day that does 90% of its miles on the Ring or another circuit for that matter. Then, you probably need to updgrade a good few things to get proper reliability.
Yep “if you knew how hot the jet turbine on your plane got you wouldn’t fly”

stock GR goes quite well lets say 7-8/10 but taking it to 9-10/10 it starts having few issues. nothing major but still.

I am still suffering from AWD overheat on track with wrapped exhaust, vents and syvecs AWD controller. Car is booked in to get hel diff cooler installed and also to add a sensor to the transfer case oil at end of Jan. I have the GRMN cooling tray already, bought from 4turbo who deliver to the UK.

So where are you measuring the Transfer case temp?. I just looked at your GB thread using the Link Michael Knight supplied. ( https://www.gr-zoo.com/threads/why-...-transfer-case-did-not-get-any-air-flow.4814/) That sensor installed in the transfer case is not submerged in the oil so its not accurate. Also NTC sensors need to be configured using their resistance values.
Sorry but I have a hard time believing the TC temp is reaching 170c Modded or not.

As far as I know, you’re the first person I know that with AWD syvecs controller still have issues on the rear diff. Have you changed the syvecs predetermined temperature values that come with the controller or even raising them you still having issues?

If I remember correctly, the syvecs awd controller comes with the 100 degree temperatura as the stock unit. I have te syvecs awd controller myself, and with a good few tweaks it´s a very good piece of kit to adjust the awd system. But as it comes in the box I can be improved on its settings.

Probably 20ish minute sessions normally - maybe 30 or so if I get overexcited.

I do seem to have more overheating issues than most others, I put it down to my refined and delicate driving style :D

I haven't changed the temp or other settings in the syvecs, I just put the latest map on there - it sounds like that minimises RWD when going in a straight line. I figured if it says its overheating, probably best to do something about that.

Any thoughts/input you have on configuring the Syvecs AWD would be welcome! As far as I can see you can't download logs from it, you would have to have a laptop running the syvecs software connected, and capture things live?

Have you seen the 555 engineering video on the corolla? Not sure how exactly they measure temp, but they report the same thing. Video shows two cars, one standard, one with their transfer case cooling

calibration is done , probe install underneath the transfer case
before I install the probe , I have temperature sticker on it too
It read over 150c

How are you going to cool the transfer case? I know 555 made a nice solution for the GR corolla, but I have not found something for the Yaris

My car is going in next week to have the hel diff cooler fitted, they are also going to try to put a temp sensor in the transfer case to see how hot the oil gets…
