Hi,

I'm installing DNA top mounts and am confused what torque to use for the strut piston rod nut. Other than the DNA top mounts I am using the standard suspension components.

The only torque figure I can find relate to the standard strut mounting to body nut which is 55Nm. This nut is above the body mounting plate and hence is above the strut piston rod nut (bearing nut). Also, this nut does not exist in the same way on the DNA top mounts, it is replaced by the 3 allan key bolts.
As the strut piston rod nut is torqued the bearing starts to bind.
With very little torque, the nut turns with the shock and the shock rotates freely. If the nut is torqued up, the nut doesn't move and the shock piston rotates in the nut but the shock rotation is not smooth.
It seems wrong to leave the nut un-torqued, but also seems wrong to cause the bearing to bind - If any one knows how these should be set, please let me know
