GR86 GR86 Infotainment

Spotify not working correctly - I am using AAWireless and it has been perfect until recently when it often fails to load spotify, it is a blank screen. All other apps work, and I can only play Spotify by pressing play on the phone, but nothing on the HU. It sometimes corrects when I unplug the dongle, force close spotify, and reconnect. Anyone else seen this? Thanks

Tried restarting the phone? I've occasionally had issues with Spotify but I think it's the phone end, rather than the HU end. And if anything has changed, it's more likely to be with the phone. Also, Android 14 has just been released, my phone updated a few days ago and seems to be still working, but I have seen numerous reports of others saying it broke AA for them.

All working fine for me this morning 👍

If you go back to post #42 you will see that the incredibly handsome man who posted it on Reddit also put it in this thread first ;)
Just as handsome as the bloke who came up with the idea 😅 ;)

I've had this once or twice, I think it's on the phone end

I'm struggling with the Carlinkit, perhaps because I mistakenly bought the CPC-200-2air version rather than the new one (v5).

It's in my list of connected devices on bluetooth but the colour on the Carlinkit stays red, rather than going blue as per a proper connection.

I've tried all their troubleshooting tips and if I connect a cable from the Carlinkit to my phone I get AA working perfectly on the headunit, but then go back to BT and it won't connect.

It's quite frustrating and I can't think of anything else to try. Any ideas welcomed....

CarLinkit 5.0 installed today. Had to complete a software update before installation using the Samsung Internet browser as it doesn't work with Google.
Installed without issue using the USB cable supplied. Fits snugly in centre console, with cable coiled and routed underneath. No need to use any tape to secure it.(y)

I’m still having problems getting the Apple Car Play to work with the Carlinkit 5.0. I’ve updated the software already. It sometimes works. Is it supposed to be connect via the WiFi or the Bluetooth? Obviously the phone is connected via Bluetooth for the hands free.

It should connect over Bluetooth, I ended up deleting the car connection on the phone and in the car settings, then connected via Carlinkit which, in turn, reconnected the GR86 Bluetooth. It's worked fine since then, but I think the car connecting was interfering with the initial Carlinkit connection when I was setting it up.

Hope that makes sense...

I’ve disconnected and reconnected via Bluetooth and it does seem to work but it defaults to the WiFi setting on the phone - the message on the info system says it must connect to the WiFi to have wireless Apple Car Play which is fine and it does seem to work however it defaults the phone to ACP and now I can’t seem to dial out to make a phone call on the screen and can only make calls on my iPhone. Anyone else have this issue?

Just a heads up, the Motorola MA1 is current £50 on Amazon at the moment.

The AAWireless was on offer for £47 around Black Friday too. It may come back into stock around Boxing Day again.

Might be worth holding out for that, as it's the most updated of the big three wireless Android Auto devices, and I believe they are testing CarPlay support now too.
