GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Did you call them, or they you? Just wondering if I should expect a call myself. I'm a cash buyer, so really I'd like to pay and get everything finalised to make sure the car arrives as soon as possible.

Also, "They’ll be releasing the cars over the course of the month as they don’t have a big team managing all the cars." - this already doesn't bode well. With the way things have been handled so far, I can easily see deliveries slipping too late for the car to arrive before Christmas.
I replied to the email asking us to “confirm if we wanted the car” but asked a number of questions too. Sent that email Friday and had a call today.

He has requested that everyone with that email should respond and ask any questions they have. He’s said so far 80 out of the ~180 emails sent have had a reply.

I know what you mean about deliveries. I think it might come down to how many hand overs are happening at each dealer. They’ll probably limit it to 1 handover per day or something. So busier dealerships might take longer than others, just speculating though.

The test drive will be the main decider for me. My local dealer told me this morning that they get their demonstrator in a week's time, so hoping to get a test drive at the end of the month.

Anyone on a 10.30+ gone into build yet?
Nope for me . . .

But also visited my local dealer and they will contact me for a test drive when it comes in the next couple of weeks. They are expecting their first customer car delivery on Dec 2nd

(The salesman was also quite pushy that if I decided I didn't want to wait any longer and cancel my order, that I should contact them and they take it off my hands at the point of delivery - yeah right!!)

And the dealers wonder why Toyota went online only. Fk them.

Being sent photos of the GR training day from my nominated dealer.

Photos are showing rear parking sensors on the 86. (Remember that being a discussion point where people weren't sure if it was coming with them or not)

That would be great news if true. Can you share the pics?

This is a car at Goodwood, I don't see parking sensors? Or are they only on either AT or MT but not both?

I really hope it’s not just an AT thing. It’s seems rather hit and miss with the American ones too but it’s mostly the autos that have sensors.

A reminder that Toyota GB will have a GR86 on display at Oulton Park, Wednesday 30th November. Spectator access is free, so pop in, say hello and take a look at the car at your leisure if you are able/local.

I'm gonna take a punt and say that it probably is. Aside from colour, the only option anyone has been given when ordering is automatic or manual, and I think a lot of the other tech (like cross traffic alert and blind spot assist) is only on the auto, so I imagine it's the same for parking sensors too.

They are a nice-to-have option, but as we are all getting a camera, I'll just console myself with the fact that at least the bumper will look a tad cleaner without them.

The white one is an auto. I'm not fussed on sensors anyway. They always fail eventually.
I've had many cars with sensors, but I've yet to have any of them fail.
I'm not too fussed either way, it has a rear camera and isn't exactly a huge car. I specifically asked Toyota UK in an email about parking sensors, as it says in the specification on the website says that they are standard, but the online brochure says they aren't (conflicting information like this annoys me so I felt the need to ask for clarification). They replied saying that they are dealer fitted option, and to speak the dealer about getting them fitted (I won't be).
My guess is that they're standard on the auto.
