GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I have a controversial opinion. I like how parking sensors look; they break up the monotony of the rear bumper.
Kind of like how I hated that whole phase of removing fog lights/number plate recesses and smoothing them over.

My current car (Golf) has parking sensors and I've had no issues with them (I've owned from new for 7 years). Don't need to clean them between washes either. I would have like to have them on my GR86 instead or or in addition to the rear camera as I live in a village with no lighting and would like to be able know when I'm close to some low level object I can't see.

I'll survive though, as I'll be loosing quite a few great gadgets when the switch finally happens

The GR Yaris at least has parking sensors at the rear, The latest MT BRZ in Hong Kong has parking sensors at the rear. Why is it that Toyota UK fail to give what was promised when we ordered the car?

I don’t live far away so went along to a very wet Goodwood today, tried to sneak a passenger ride but wasn’t successful ;-)

14 x GR86 there - 4 on track, 8 doing a road loop and 2 static ones.

A few (poor!) pics, first time I’d seen all the colours in the flesh - still happy with the silver!

Coincidentally Toyota Buy Online rung me on the way back to confirm delivery details, seemed pretty confident they’d be starting soon.

Interesting pic of an electric blue car with silver wheels that look like the 17 inch US spec wheel. For me, the silver wheel looks good against the blue.

That's a previous gen, GT86 not GR86.
The side profiles are pretty similar though. I had to do a double take as well.

My GRY Circuit Pack doesn't have any parking sensors. I think only the Convenience Pack did for the GRY. But I agree it is disappointing that it was on the initial GR86 spec sheet, and now seemingly removed (at least for the Manual version).

But also visited my local dealer and they will contact me for a test drive when it comes in the next couple of weeks. They are expecting their first customer car delivery on Dec 2nd

(The salesman was also quite pushy that if I decided I didn't want to wait any longer and cancel my order, that I should contact them and they take it off my hands at the point of delivery - yeah right!!)

Mine is a10:32 order - just received email - "build in progress" yay.

I spoke to Toyota GB today to get some finance stuff sorted and they said they'd be in touch from next week to start sorting out our 3-day insurance so they can tax and register them.

Not long now!

Am I being alarmist but how do we know none of these are customer cars then delivered to us with only delivery mileage?!
Danp, other than those on your photographs posted do you have any of the registration plate numbers?
PS. I now see they all begin with the GY pre fix so that's will help identify them.

In order to get a plate, they need to be registered. Customer cars will be registered to the customer. They're not gonna give a customer a brand new car when they're the second owner of their own new car lol. Don't panic.

Demos are being delivered to all/most dealers today. Aside from the ones pictured in this chat already, I know RRG Macclesfield and Steven Eagell Birmingham have had theirs today too.

Confirmed manuals don't have parking sensors.
Waiting for some feedback from some friends who've been at Goodwood on the training today to see if there's anything we need to know.

I don't believe you do. The spoiler is a LOT bigger than that.
