GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Had an email from the dealer today to say car should be arriving with them on the 16th August. Ordered on 9th June so pretty snappy really. Can’t collect until early September anyway. Hope to collect and then almost immediately head to Lake Annecy, the Alps, balcony roads and maybe hit route Napoleon on the way back home! Should be a good 2-3k miles in the first month!

I wondered whether the demos have uprated power which would be a but sneaky or the headline figures are downplayed. Has anyone had one on a dyno?
I love my FK8, I know a couple of other people on here have had them or still have them. I’ve just found it a bit meh lately, Honda been dicking me about with warranty, and compared to my other cars it feels a tad numb. Steering feel is meh, seating position is high up and it feels very wide, even compared to my cars that are wider.
It’s still a great car and you wouldn’t be disappointed whichever way you went, but if you don’t need the practicality of the huge boot and useable rear seats I think the GR86 is a winner.
I don’t think so, I think the feeling is Toyota have always been pessimistic on their declared power figures.
I test drove a GR Supra about 2 years ago, and that felt faster than the Z4 cousin. That was a great car too.
Hi everyone, I got an invite last week of July very unexpectedly and have placed my order same week in pearl white.
There was only grey, red, or white left as options in my configurator.

People have, and reported power is much higher, but there are doubts about whether the dynos were done correctly (using the correct gear). I don't know what the real power is. Maybe it really is 231 (the car is reasonably light by modern standards), because it seems odd to me that Toyota would report the 3 bhp difference in the US (228, slight difference due to emissions or fuel type or something) if the reality was much higher.

Around the time the first press reports said there were more UK cars available this year, late April I think.
Wow, that's reasonably early given that you didn't get the offer until the last week of July. It seems that a few others registered a fair while after you, but managed to get an invite earlier. At least you managed to get your order in though.

Got an email confirming it was built and had left the factory on 18th July but following the instructions on this thread there's no further info, it's still showing as in Toyota City, Japan...

Have you called Toyota and asked for an estimate collection date?
My order seems to be the same status as yours and my car is scheduled to arrive at the dealers on 12th September, with collection on the 19th.
Yep .. call TOL. My car left the factory around same time as yours… it’s on a ship in the Red Sea as we speak. They can tell you which ship it’s on. Think it’s unlikely yours is still in Japan.

Mine still says order processing and it's sat on my driveway so don't worry about it. Give them a call and they will always have the correct live information.
This is my timeline should anyone be interested:
- On 8th May 2023 I registered my interest after hearing there may be additional allocation for the UK.
- I was asked if I wanted to join the new waiting list on 3rdJuly.
- I was told on 12th July that my place in the queue had come up and ‘requested’ my GR86.
- On 14th I was informed I could place my order.
- I completed my order on 19th July with an estimated delivery time of 12 weeks for the pearl white one.
- On 3rd August I was told my car would be available in the next two weeks roughly.
- Next day I received a call it was now at my local dealer.
Sounds like you got a cancellation. What colour did you go for?
