GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

Time to stop lurking....

After missing out on the first batch because a house purchase had to be prioritised, I gambled at the time that there would be a second batch . Seems to have paid off (with the exception of paying an extra 2.5k) and I had my order confirmed on 23rd June.

2 weeks ago I got my welcome call stating the car would be available for handover in July! Having read the trials and tribulations of first batch customers I wasn't going to hold my breath. Anyway, today I've just chased Toyota, who have given me a reg number and stated the car will be arriving at my dealer this Wednesday (19th July).

I'm excited, but also remain a little skeptical - I'm not sure I will believe it until I have the keys in my hand.
What colour have you gone for?

Mines just gone on a boat. How do you find out what boat it is on and also what kind of timeframe will I be looking at till it arrives at the dealership?
I just called Toyota online and they said my Silver manual GR86 is on the Durban Highway car carrier just off coast of India at present.
It's due to dock at Bristol on Sunday 6th August. Then another 3 weeks or so at Derby then delivery to my dealer.
So I'm going for a 73 reg.

I went with red. White and silver both considered, but ultimately I see this as a fun car that should be in a fun colour.

The online order trackers has been all over the place. When I first got access to the system the car was already at the docks, then it went to Derby within two days. Then back to the dock last week. After phoning Toyota it's now showing as at the retailer. For those still waiting, I wouldn't trust the online system and instead get over the phone updates with Toyota.

Plucking hell, that was quick…

Now showing left the factory :)
Just checked with TBOL and my car is on Durban Highway last reported position rounding tip of India heading for Suez Canal.

Nice one! Let's just hope that the Navigator keeps his hands on the wheel up the Canal ... "Steering gear failure, steering gear failure. Close all Red Openings, Stand by for collision Port Side ..."

About time I stopped lurking..... I also spoke with Toyota on line today and they informed me that my red manual GR86 is on the Goodwood, which is in the west med having docked in Sagunto this afternoon on its way to the UK. Should be available from dealer in August!

I got a note saying mine has left the factory today but when Toyota GB called me last week they sad they had the same info a I did on the App (In build at the time

Is there any lag in these "updates" and if so any idea how much and projected timescales for arrival in the UK?

Meanwhile I'm still waiting from the first batch haha. Mine is finally in the country for the last two weeks and estimated early August handover. Might give them a call to see if it has a reg yet so I can start insurance quotes.

My trackers still say Order Processing so a big lag on mine when it docked early July! I'm lead to believe it's 3-4 weeks on the ship and around 4 weeks from it landing to the dealership.

Assume they come in to Avonmouth/Portbury. I wonder if it is possible to see the unloading from a public spot?

Has anyone videoed ?
Can't find any webcam feeds for that area.

I remember many years ago watching VW/Audis unloaded from ships in Kent - huge plumes of rubber smoke as they got screamed out of the cargo bay. I think I'd rather remain ignorant and pretend it was all done with care and mechanical empathy...

Can you imagine if all the new owners turned up to cheer the arrival of the boat :p
