GR86 GR86 Delivery Tracking and Collection thread

I wanted to like the Up GTI but just couldn’t, much too crashy. At least the one I test drove.

Oh, I know how you feel ! Am really getting second thoughts. Other car is a BMW M340i touring, which is fabulous and I thought the GR 86 would be a perfect second car - but I love my Up GTI!

I’ve got a Fabia with the same engine, albeit slightly detuned. I can’t believe how well it goes. Was talking to a local tuner and he said they are great engines. Can remap it to 130hp but can hit 150 with an exhaust system and filter

Mine updated today as being in Portbury so hopefully not long left to go. My old Up GTI got collected today as well, so a few weeks on having to get the bus to work for me:D.

Hi, hope you get your car soon. I currently have an Up GTI and a GR86 on order. I really like my Up but unfortunately can't keep both. I do have a practical estate, but the Up is a great small car that does everything quite well. Hoping I made right decision to get the GR and sell the Up 😬.

I could never see me letting our Up gti go…for any car

Am I the only one who doesn't own an Up GTi?

😅😅 looks like it, possibly appeals in a similar way to the GR86? Value, lightweight , feels fast at road legal speeds and fun to drive ....

For those that got the spoiler fitted at the dealer, did you contact them before they got the car or just once it arrived with them? Mine isn't going to a GR specialist, take it they' be able to fit it no worries?
I would contact them a few weeks in advance to get the part ordered. That’s what I did and it was still delayed by two weeks for fitting etc.

The Up GTI is probably one the most enjoyable cars I've ever owned, I'd of kept it as a second car if I could afforded to and was sad to see it go. The only reason I did get rid of it was because I only ended up with it due to not being quick enough when the GR's initially went on sale and I'm a fanboy for Japanese cars :ROFLMAO: I'd easily recommend the Up to anyone that wanted a capable but fun car that wasn't going to break the bank.

Cheers! I'll have a word with them soon about it. I guess if not I could order the part from Fensport and just drop it off at the dealer.

Stock they are defo crashy. Cheap dampers, esp rear ones, and Eco tyres are to blame. Very fixable without much spend via some Bilstein B4 dampers (stock springs are fine) plus a decent tyre of your choice. Night and day difference

There are parts available, mine arrived within 3 or 4 days of being ordered last week. Like Alex my car was at the dealers two weeks but they only ordered after I nudged them a second time.

Mines just gone on a boat. How do you find out what boat it is on and also what kind of timeframe will I be looking at till it arrives at the dealership?

Interesting. Approx cost of said ‘fix’?

I've got the test drive tomorrow... It was due to be this afternoon... I'm not really bothered about driving it, it's only to take the car home to show SWMBO who is absolutely determined to not like it and find all the things wrong with it for our lifestyle... I still want it

There's a limit to how far I can push the argument as she's been to hell and back medically and is still not at the end of that road, treatment wise but I'm keeping everything crossed that she sees the light

Having read the posts about an Up GTi I might suggest one of those to accompany the GR to ensure that we tick all the boxes re lifestyle needs...

£40-50 per corner on the dampers plus a couple of hours fitting and alignment. Plus 205 tyres most go for Michelin PS4/5 cost maybe £100 each. Anyone who fancies a passenger ride in mine is welcome (near Manc airport).

Give Toyota a call and they can tell you over the phone which ship it is on. My tracking has never worked and still says processing but mine was 3-4 weeks on the boat and arrived in Bristol last Wednesday. Toyota have said it will be early August for handover but heard nothing yet and as the tracking isn't working I'm not sure from port to dealer where it's currently at.

Spotted someone else’s car at Listers Coventry earlier

Was on the waitlist, can't remember when I registered but got the email last week to order. Ordered on Thursday confirmation on Friday says my car is already in Derby...

I was told the second batch is on the way here but I'm reading that people on the original order still haven't received their vehicles.

It's a third car and I've owned loads of grey vehicles, red is a bit flash so I've gone for white. Unusual choice for me but I think the GR86 looks great in white with the black wheels and black trim etc. Not seen to many whites here, perhaps it's the UK weather but as it's a fair weather car, it will only really be driven when the sun shines and the car begs to be taken out so white should be fine.

Great choice, I have a white 86, and it looks classy and understated on an overcast day. Flash and sparkly on a sunny day.😎

Time to stop lurking....

After missing out on the first batch because a house purchase had to be prioritised, I gambled at the time that there would be a second batch . Seems to have paid off (with the exception of paying an extra 2.5k) and I had my order confirmed on 23rd June.

2 weeks ago I got my welcome call stating the car would be available for handover in July! Having read the trials and tribulations of first batch customers I wasn't going to hold my breath. Anyway, today I've just chased Toyota, who have given me a reg number and stated the car will be arriving at my dealer this Wednesday (19th July).

I'm excited, but also remain a little skeptical - I'm not sure I will believe it until I have the keys in my hand.
