GR86 GR86- Cars for sale - General Discussion

I told the guy I P/X’d mine to that if you don’t want to be taken the mickey out of, do not advertise it as having an alarm. He was blown away that it didn’t come with one.

Apologies if covered elsewhere, but interested in peoples experience with Motorway sales platform.
I was curious and enquired about my Sept 2023 Manual GR86 with 9,500 miles in Saphire Blue Pearl and they gave an estimated price of £31,550

There is no damage I am aware of inc alloys, never crashed and has been carefully maintained.

I dont have to sell , but I do have two other cars and a few motorbikes so thinking I should cut back
:)

My experience was that they are a bunch of soppy pr*cks.

Gave me an artificially high price, "confirmed" a sale for less, didn't get in touch with me to arrange collection, sent me round in circles when trying to chase up said collection, got all sanctimonious and pompous when I left a review on Trustpilot, and overall were a massive pain in the a*se.

Contrast this with a flawless experience with CarWow, who facilitated my sale and collection with a very professional and pleasant national buyer for a large franchise.

CarWow: Recommended.
Motorway: W*nkers.

We appear to be saturating the market, as I am also going through the same process for mine (Sapphire Blue, 72 plate, manual, 7600 miles). They gave me a very similar initial valuation, then after uploading photos and disclosing any issues (one v. minor alloy scuff, and a few wear and tear paint chips as expected, all else in great condition) the revised valuation dropped to £30600. The best offer I got in the auction that it went in was ~£29500 so a few thousand off where it started...

Platform itself seemed ok, but a lot of chat with their support team for clarifications and amendments which made it feel a bit unwieldy. Then the usual chasing afterwards from them to encourage the sale. Someone I spoke to there said that only 6 dealers bid on my car because it was "niche" and only one bid was a serious one apparently. Considering my options at current...

Hey guys.

I recently sold my 2.0 Supra to Motorpoint, after getting mucked around on Motorway and Carwow.

They gave me £34,200 for it which was £2000 more than the Carwow estimate and much more than motorway actually managed to achieve. (Although about 800 down on what they thought it was worth)

If you do the valuation it lasts for 7 days. The price can go up and down over time as well. Was offered 33k. Left it 2 weeks and the price went up to what I sold it for.

Funny thing is they’ve now dropped the price of the Supra to the point they’d only
Be making about £600 (I’m assuming they must make most of their money in finance etc)

Have seen a few 86s come and go. So might be worth a punt?

Cash was in my account within 30mins (and no fees on the payment)

I took loads of photos, intending to upload, but then found you need to do through app live.

I contacted Group 1 Guildford who I bought car through and said considering selling and Motorway estimate.
They advised someone would get back to me, but nothing heard so far.

Im not too fussed as enjoy driving car as much as before
:)

Thanks for comments and suggestions, much appreciated.
